Waymo plans to launch ‘robotaxi’ service in Detroit - Detroit Metro Times

🚗💨 So I'm thinking about this whole self-driving car thing and how it's gonna change our lives in Detroit... or if it will 🤔. On one hand, having robotaxis could be a game-changer for people who can't drive themselves or need a way to get around without stressing about traffic. Plus, it's all about accessibility and making life easier for folks with conditions like epilepsy, which is really cool 💕.

But at the same time, I'm a little worried about how this tech is gonna impact local businesses and parking situations in the city 🤷‍♀️. We've already seen gentrification push out small shops and restaurants – can we afford to lose more of that? And what's the deal with the testing areas in the Upper Peninsula? Are they just gonna be driving around up there all winter while we worry about our own streets 😬.

Also, have you thought about how these robotaxis are gonna affect the way we think about ownership and transportation as a whole 🤯? I mean, if your car is basically a fancy Uber ride, does that change everything? 🚗💸

omg 🤖 just heard that waymo is coming to detroit 🎉 i'm super stoked about this! it's gonna be sick to have robotaxis on our streets 🚗👍 i've been waiting for a long time for this kind of tech to become a reality. plus, it's awesome that they're focusing on making transportation more accessible for people with epilepsy 🤝 my grandma has that condition and it's always hard for her to get around. this is like, the future we've all been talking about 💻 what do you guys think? are you excited for waymo to roll out in detroit? 🤔

I'm hyped about this!!! 🤖 Detroit is gonna be the next big thing for autonomous cars! I mean, who wouldn't want a safe and accessible way to get around the city? Waymo's been testing their tech in Michigan's snowy conditions, so they know it works. Plus, it's awesome that they're targeting people with epilepsy - that's some serious commitment to making cities better for everyone. I'm down to sign up for those updates 📲 and be one of the first to hop in a robotaxi!

Ugh, another company thinking it can just swoop in with their "robotaxi" service and expect us to be all thrilled 🤔. Like, I get it, autonomous cars are cool and all, but what about the infrastructure? Who's gonna maintain those roads and ensure they're safe for these self-driving cars? And what about public transportation options for people who can't or won't drive themselves? We're already dealing with traffic jams and congestion in Detroit, adding more cars to the road is just gonna make it worse 🚗😒.

🤖 So I'm thinking, this is a big deal! Waymo finally launching in Detroit means more people are gonna have access to safe transportation. I mean, it's not like they're just gonna take anyone's car and drive around, it's fully autonomous 🚗. And the fact that they're focusing on people with epilepsy, that's awesome 👏. It shows companies care about making a difference in our communities. But we gotta keep an eye out for those regulations, make sure Waymo gets the green light from Michigan authorities before they start cruising around 🚔.
