Two lanes Highway 101 closed Sunday due to overturned big rig

California's Highway 101 has been left reeling after a massive semi-truck crash in Redwood City on Sunday, leaving several lanes impassable. The California Highway Patrol confirmed that the truck, weighing over its own weight, lost control and flipped onto its side near Marsh Road.

As a result, multiple northbound lanes were closed, with only two of them eventually reopening just after midday. However, officials stress that there's no estimated time for when the last of the remaining lanes will be reopened.

Drivers are being cautioned to remain vigilant on the road and take alternative routes if possible, including El Camino Real or Highway 84 to Haven Road and E. Bayshore Road.

The incident is still unfolding, with officials urging motorists to check back for updates as more information comes to light.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the scale of this semi-truck disaster on California's Highway 101 πŸš—πŸ˜±. It's just crazy that a truck weighing over its own weight lost control and flipped onto its side - I mean, what were the circumstances leading up to it? Was it a driver error or something else at play? The fact that multiple lanes are still impassable is a major traffic nightmare, especially for those who rely on this route daily 🀯.

It's also got me thinking about how our infrastructure is constantly evolving (or so I'm told πŸ˜‰). Is there anything we can do to prevent such incidents in the future? Are the roads just too congested or worn out? It's a reminder that even with all the advancements, human error and accidents are still a part of life πŸ˜”.

Ugh, I just hope everyone involved in that massive crash is okay 🀞🚨! But honestly, can't they do something about these crazy long construction hours? Like, the only two lanes were open by midday and it was already pushing 2 pm... what's up with that?! 😩 It's like they don't care about traffic congestion or anything.

And btw, have you seen the layout of this highway?! It's all wonky and doesn't even follow a standard grid pattern πŸ—ΊοΈ. I mean, can't they just stick to a clean layout for once?! 🀯 It'd be so much easier on everyone if it were all symmetrical and whatnot.

Anyway, back to the crash... drivers need to be super careful out there and plan ahead, obvs πŸ’‘πŸš—. Maybe consider taking alternative routes like El Camino Real or Highway 84? Less stress that way 😌. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! πŸ™

Ugh, I'm literally shaking thinking about all those trucks on the road πŸš—πŸ˜¨ Like what if it was a Tesla instead of a semi-truck? Would they have just taken over the entire highway and been like "Hey, we're gonna crash, deal with it" πŸ˜‚. And now people are stuck in traffic for who knows how long... my morning commute is literally ruined πŸš«πŸ˜’ I swear, can't even rely on Cali roads to get me to work on time ⏰. Maybe they should like invest in some more truck cameras or something? Just a thought πŸ˜‚

Ugh, what a nightmare! 🀯 I'm stuck in traffic on the highway right now and it's a total gridlock! Can't believe that semi-truck just lost control like that 😱. I mean, who needs a road trip when you can spend your day stuck behind a bunch of brake lights? πŸš—πŸ˜©

I'm glad they're being super cautious about reopening the lanes, but come on, California, get it together! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ We need some major infrastructure updates around here. And honestly, who knew Marsh Road was a semi-truck's worst nightmare? πŸ˜‚ I guess you could say it was a bit of a "crash" course for them. 🚨

Anyway, if you're planning on driving anywhere in the area, just be prepared to take some detours and enjoy your air-conditioned car ride... NOT! πŸ’¨

omg this highway crash in california is crazy what a massive semi-truck losing control like that is so freaky the weight of it is just insane 🀯 i mean how do you even flip a truck that's already over its own weight? and the fact that multiple lanes are still closed after midday is like, what's the point of even reopening them? shouldn't they have had more time to figure out what went wrong in the first place?

anyway, drivers need to be super careful on the road right now it's just not worth the risk. taking detours or something might take a bit longer but at least you'll get there safely πŸš—πŸ’¨

man this highway crash is crazy 🚨 I'm literally on my way to work and i had to take that detour via El Camino Real it's like, so much slower but at least i made it πŸ˜… the thing is, how do these trucks even lose control? like, they're designed for stability, right? anyway, fingers crossed they get those lanes reopened ASAP 🀞

πŸ€” so like what even is a semi-truck weighing over its own weight doing on the highway?! 🚧 did it just get too heavy to handle? and how can that happen in the first place? was there maybe some weird cargo or something? also, i'm kinda worried about all these drivers stuck on the road... haven't they heard of traffic updates or something? πŸ“± shouldn't they be able to know what's going on before they get to the highway? anyway, hopefully everyone is okay and that it doesn't take too long for the roads to get fixed πŸ™

🚨πŸ’₯ crazy how a truck can just lose control like that! i mean, it's not uncommon for trucks to be heavier than most cars, but this one was literally double its own weight lol what was going through the driver's mind at that moment? anyway, glad no one was seriously hurt πŸ™, but still super frustrating for commuters having to deal with all these lane closures. anyone else driving on 101 today and stuck in traffic? πŸš—πŸ˜©

omg u guys can u believe this 🀯?! like a semi-truck flipped onto its side on the highway in Cali 🚨😱 i mean what even is that?! and it's not just one lane that's closed, multiple ones are impassable 🚧😡. i'm stuck in traffic rn trying to get home from santa cruz πŸš—πŸ˜©.

anywayz, gotta say, the calif highway patrol is doing a great job handling the situation πŸ’―πŸ‘ but still, it's so frustrating having to take detours all over the place πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ—ΊοΈ. hope everyone stays safe and gets home soon πŸ™πŸ˜Œ. btw, who even knows when they'll reopen the last of the lanes? πŸ€”πŸ’β€β™€οΈ

omg this is crazy a huge semi-truck crash on highway 101 in california?! i was just talking about how bad the traffic was on the way to napa valley last week and now this happens πŸš—πŸ’₯ it's like, what even is going on with these massive trucks? they're supposed to be safe or so i thought. anyway, hope everyone involved is okay 😬 and hopefully the lanes get reopened soon. anyone have a better road map out of here besides el camino real? πŸ€”

😱🚧 so what's goin on here?! πŸ€” like, how does a truck just lose control and flip onto its side? πŸš—πŸ’₯ that's crazy talk! 🀯 anyway, i'm stuck in traffic now 'cause of this crash and it's super annoying πŸ˜’. can't they just give us an estimated time when all the lanes will be open again? πŸ•°οΈ like, how hard is it to predict when a truck is gonna crash? πŸ€”

i drew a quick diagram to help visualize the situation:
```
anyway, just hoping the road gets back to normal soon πŸ€žπŸš—
Ugh, it's like they're playing a game of musical chairs on the highway πŸš—πŸ˜¬... I was driving along 101 last week and didn't even notice any delays. Now it's just chaos, all because of that massive truck crash. Back in my day, we used to have more reliable GPS systems, but I guess technology isn't always a blessing... anyway, it's so frustrating for people who need to get to work or school on time. I hope they can reopen those lanes soon! 🀞
πŸš§πŸ˜’ Oh great, just what I needed to make my commute even more thrilling - a massive truck crash on the 101! Who needs a normal highway experience when you can have a semi-truck flipped onto its side? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ And of course, only two lanes were reopened... meanwhile the other four are just chillin', waiting for me to take my sweet time getting to work 😴. I mean, who even uses the 101 anymore? Just kidding, it's still a popular route for me and probably millions of others. But seriously, accidents like this remind us that even with all the tech and precautions, there are just some risks we can't avoid πŸ€•. Guess I'll be taking El Camino Real... again. πŸ’¨
Ugh πŸš—πŸ˜¬ I'm so sick of these massive trucks on the road. They're just begging to crash like this. And now we've got drivers stuck in traffic with no end in sight πŸ•°οΈ. I mean, can't they just take a detour? It's not that hard. And what's with the reopening times? Just give people some actual numbers so they can plan their day πŸ“…. This whole thing is a disaster waiting to happen... or should I say, has already happened 😩.
Omg what a crazy situation 🚨😲! I mean, can you even imagine driving along and then BAM! A massive truck just flips over on its side? I'm so grateful that no one was seriously hurt, but like... how did the weight of that truck just become unstable like that? 🀯
Anyway, I feel for all those drivers stuck in traffic. I mean, who likes sitting in a car for hours doing nothing? 😴 I've been there too, and trust me, it's not fun. But on the bright side, at least you can grab some food or listen to music while you're waiting... and take a break from driving, right?
So yeah, just be careful out there, folks! Take those alternative routes if possible, and check back for updates. It's always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to accidents like this πŸš—πŸ’‘
πŸš—πŸ’₯ this crash is so crazy, a truck flipping onto its side like that's just insane... how does it even happen? 🀯 and now the whole road is all backed up, traffic jams everywhere... poor people stuck in their cars for hours πŸ™„. I feel for them, especially with rush hour on Sunday. anyway, hope everyone involved in the crash is okay πŸ’•. it's just a miracle that no one was killed or seriously hurt πŸ™. safety checks should be really thorough after an incident like this... and what's up with the truck being overweight anyway? πŸ€” gotta get to the bottom of it πŸ‘€
OMG, like I was checking Twitter and saw the news about that massive truck crash on California's Highway 101... 😱 what a crazy scene! I hope everyone involved is okay πŸ™. It's just so frustrating when traffic accidents happen, especially when they can cause such a huge disruption to commuters. But you know what? We've got this! πŸ™Œ the CA Highway Patrol is doing its thing and keeping people updated on the road situation. And honestly, I think it's awesome that officials are reminding everyone to be careful on the roads - we all need to look out for each other! 😊 let's all take a deep breath and hope everything gets back to normal soon 🌞
🚨 this is getting out of hand... I mean, a truck that heavy can't even stay on the road?! 🀯 how do we expect people to get around without some serious infrastructure overhaul? it's not just about opening up lanes again, it's about making sure our roads are safe for everyone. i'm so done with these massive trucks taking over our highways 🚚😑
omg what a huge mess 🚨😩 they gotta do something about these massive trucks on the road!! it's like they just lost control outta nowhere... i was driving by that area yesterday and saw some crazy traffic, but luckily i didn't get stuck in it πŸ˜… anyway, this is a major headache for everyone who drives through CA. hopefully they can get those lanes reopened ASAP so we don't have to deal with this for too long 🀞
