France's former president Sarkozy to begin appeal trial on March 16

Ugh, my heart is literally breaking for the people of France πŸ€•πŸ‡«πŸ‡·... like what even is the point of these trials? Is it just a never-ending cycle of corruption and power-hungry politicians who think they're above the law? 😩 I mean, Sarkozy was found guilty, released after 20 days (yeah right, like that's even a punishment), and now he's appealing his conviction... what does this say about our justice system?! 🀯

And don't even get me started on the timing of these trials... 2025 and we're still dealing with the consequences of Sarkozy's actions in 2007? It feels like Groundhog Day, but instead of Bill Murray, it's just a bunch of powerful people getting away with things. πŸ™„ How can we trust our leaders when they can't even be held accountable for their own corruption?

I'm just so tired of all these high-profile trials and scandals... it's like the rich and powerful are writing the rules and everyone else is just along for the ride. 😀 And what about the Libyan people who suffered at the hands of Gaddafi? Are they not worthy of justice?! πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I need a good cry, stat πŸ’”

I cant even believe this is still happening its like he thinks hes above the law and got off scot free first time around only served 20 days can you believe that its a joke lol what was he supposed to do 20 days of prison time just cos he was the former president of france newsflash Nicolas Sarkozy ur not special just cuz u used to hold public office dont think u r above accountability

I'm low-key annoyed that he's even allowed to appeal this πŸ€”. Like, if you're guilty, why get to contest it? But at the same time, I don't want him to rot in prison either... five years is like, nothing compared to what some people do for a day πŸ•°οΈ. And can we talk about how messed up the system is that he got off after just 20 days? It's like, if you're gonna do something shady, at least serve your time already πŸ˜’. On the other hand, maybe the appeal will expose even more dirt on his campaign and that would be kinda awesome πŸ’β€β™€οΈ... idk, I'm all over the place about this one πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

omg u guys did u no libya had like $30 bil in foreign currency stashed away n they're still tryin 2 figure out what happened 2 it lol 20 days 4 a 5 yr sentence is wild 🀯 Sarkozy's team must be hopin their luck changes with this appeal, but honestly w/ all the other allegations against him it's hard 2 see how he gets off scot-free πŸ€‘ & btw did u know libya's international image was in shambles after gaddafi's reign? they were literally UN-sanctioned n most countries didn't even have embassies there 🌎

I'm a bit surprised he's still trying to wriggle out of this one πŸ€”. I mean, I get it, anyone can appeal and all that, but 20 days is a pretty short sentence for what sounds like some serious shady dealings to me πŸ˜’. It just seems like the wheels are always turning in his favor, doesn't it? First he's in trouble, then he's out again, and now this appeal thingy... I'm not sure how much more of this we're going to see from him πŸ™„.

It's also a bit concerning that these deals were allegedly made back in 2005, before the whole election thing even happened. You'd think that would be pretty clear-cut evidence of wrongdoing πŸ€‘. I guess you can never know for sure how it all went down, but I've got to wonder what exactly Sarkozy and his team are trying to hide here 🀐.

Anyway, I suppose we'll just have to wait and see how this whole thing plays out πŸ‘€. I'm not holding my breath for a guilty verdict, that's for sure πŸ˜….

So great, just what we need... more high-profile politicos getting away with shady dealings πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Like it's not obvious that someone's desperate for a way out when they appeal their conviction just months after being sentenced. I mean, who wouldn't want to spend years of their life in prison, right? 😴. It's not like he has a reputation to uphold or anything... oh wait, he does! πŸ™ƒ Anyway, I guess this is what they mean by "justice is blind"... until money can buy you out of trouble, that is πŸ’Έ. Can't wait to see how this all plays out on June 3rd... my popcorn's already popping 🍿.
