Ugh, I'm so fed up with these companies being fined for not wanting to block pirate sites
. Cloudflare's reasoning makes sense, by the way - do we really want to compromise DNS resolution just because of a few copyright holders complaining? I mean, what's next? A fine for every website that doesn't have an EU office? 
And what's with Italy's Piracy Shield law anyway? It sounds like it was written by a bunch of bureaucrats who think they know better than everyone else online
. All these reports about "hundreds of legitimate websites" being affected by the blocking are just an excuse to force companies to do what they want, I reckon.
I'm all for protecting creators' rights, but not at the cost of freedom of expression and internet security
. Can't we find a better way to deal with piracy that doesn't involve fines and threats of service withdrawal? This whole thing just smells like a money-grab to me
