Can't stand losing out: battle over the Police's royalties reaches high court

🤔 so sting's all like "oh, i'm the genius songwriter" but really he owes his former bandmates some cash 🤑 it's not like he's trying to be greedy or anything, just stuck on how streaming works 💸. 2016 was a big year for music industry law and now we're seeing this case bring everything into perspective 🔍.

Sting's team is saying that publishing income doesn't apply to streaming, but Copeland & Summers are all like "nope, that's not how it works" 🤷‍♂️. Can't say I blame them, though - Sting did write some iconic songs and they should get some credit 💯.

The real question is, what does the court decide? Will this set a precedent for the music industry or just be another case of rich people fighting over money 💸. Either way, it's gonna be interesting to see how this plays out 🎵.

I'm rooting for Sting here 🤔. I mean, come on, he's been holding onto his music library for decades and now he's trying to protect it from these guys who are coming out of nowhere asking for a share of all the streaming cash 💸. It's like they're saying "Hey Sting, we were there, we wrote the songs, you can't just keep it all" 🙄. But at the same time, if he's not paying them fair royalties back in the day, that's some shady business 😏. The whole thing feels kinda fishy to me...

I'm loving how this case is going to shake things up for the music industry 🎸💸 I mean, we all know that Sting's been pretty rich off his Police hits for years, but it's time someone held him accountable for those "arranger's fees" 🤑. It's not just about Sting vs. Copeland and Summers though - this is a bigger conversation about how royalties work in the digital age. I'm curious to see how the court rules on streaming income and whether Sting's arrangement applies 🤔. Hopefully, we'll get some clarity on this one soon so artists like him can be more transparent about their earnings 💪.

omg u guys can u believe this? Sting is gettin roasted by his own bandmates over £1.5 million in back royalties lol he's all like "my publishing deal doesn't apply to streaming" but Copeland & Summers are like "uh no bruh that's not how it works". it's like the ultimate music industry power struggle 🤑🎸 this case is gonna set a precedent for all future musicians so fingers crossed Sting comes out on top (or at least doesn't get sued into poverty)
