Xabi Alonso walking thin line at Madrid even with dressing room backing

Xabi Alonso's future at Real Madrid hangs precariously in the balance as his team continues to struggle. The manager, who has been under intense scrutiny lately, appears to have the backing of his players, but it remains to be seen whether that will be enough to keep him in his job.

On Tuesday night, a 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester City left Madrid with their second loss in four days and raised further doubts about Alonso's ability to turn things around. Despite this setback, the team showed signs of resistance, particularly in the final stages of the game when they had several clear-cut chances.

Rodrygo Guimarães, who scored the opening goal for Madrid, was at the center of a reunion with his coach, which he described as an attempt to show unity and support. "It's a difficult moment for him, like it is for us," Rodrygo said in reference to Alonso. "We need that unity to keep going."

Thibaut Courtois, who also came out in support of his manager, acknowledged that the performance had been good but admitted that there was still work to be done. "I feel the support of the players," Alonso said, suggesting that he has their backing.

The player's words were echoed by several of his teammates, including Jude Bellingham and Raúl Asencio, who all expressed confidence in the team's ability to turn things around. However, it remains to be seen whether this renewed sense of optimism will translate into better results on the pitch.

The pressure on Alonso is likely to continue unless Madrid can get back to form soon. The question now is whether his team will be able to rally behind their manager and achieve a turnaround in fortunes. As for Alonso himself, he must navigate the treacherous waters of maintaining a positive relationship with his players while still pushing them to improve.

For now, at least, it seems that Alonso has the backing of his team, but the fate of his job will remain uncertain until Madrid's next match against Alavés on Sunday.

Omg u guys, i'm low-key worried about Xabi Alonso 🤕 at Real Madrid right now 🤔. They're havin a tough season and it's clear that he's under a lot of pressure ⏰. But on the bright side, his teammates are all behind him 👫! Rodrygo Guimarães just gave an awesome interview about unity and support... like, i ship it 💕! The player's words were echoed by others too 🤝, so maybe we'll see some positive changes soon 🌟. Fingers crossed for Alonso (and Madrid fans 😅) to turn things around and get back on track 🔙

"Be careful what you wish for" 🤔. They're hoping this renewed sense of optimism will translate into better results, but the pressure is still on. Can they really turn things around? It's a tricky situation, and I'm not sure anyone has all the answers yet. The team seems to be rallying behind Alonso, but it'll take more than just unity and support to get them back on track. Time will tell if their confidence in him is enough to salvage his job 🤞.

I feel like Real Madrid is stuck in this rut and can't seem to get out 🤯. Alonso needs a win ASAP or else it's gonna be tough for him to keep his job. The players are coming out in support, but that's not always enough 💪. They need some actual results on the pitch, you know? Rodrygo saying they need unity is one thing, but I wanna see that translate into wins 🏆. It's gonna be a tough ask for Madrid to get back on track, especially with their next match against Alavés coming up soon ⚽️. Can't wait to see how it all plays out 👀.

I'm thinking, if the players are saying Alonso has their backs, then why is the coach under so much pressure? It just seems like another example of how politics plays out in football - you've got your "unity" and your "support", but when it comes down to it, what really matters is results on the pitch. And let's be real, Madrid's struggling to get those wins lately... maybe it's time for a change? 🤔

Come on 🤔... 2-1 to City and everyone's rallying around Xabi? Maybe he's got some magic left in him 😏. But let's be real, if Rodrygo's reunion with the coach was just about "unity" then Alonso needs to check his own unity before expecting it from the team 🤷‍♂️. Thibaut's right though - good performance but still work to do 💪. It's all about results now 🔴⚽️. Can't say I trust this "newfound optimism" just yet 😒.

idk why ppl r still thinkin alonso shd b axed lol he got da back of his players n all dey wanna give him 2 more chances 😂👍 madrids recent form ain't exactly great but Alonso's gettin da youth crew pumped up again n dat's somethin 💪🔥 as long as he keeps dem motivated & not makin too many drastic changes, i tink he'll b ok 👌

so many twists and turns in this story 🤔 what if madrid just plays 2-3 times without a good outcome? will Alonso get sacked? i feel for him 😕 he needs to make some changes, maybe change the squad or tactics, but it's hard when you're on the hot seat 💡 do u think rodrygo's reunion with alonso is genuine or just a PR stunt? 👀

I mean, can you believe how much pressure this guy Xabi Alonso is under right now? 🤯 It's like he's carrying the whole team on his back, and they're still not getting the results they want. I remember when Real Madrid was on top of their game, they didn't need some manager to tell them what to do. They just played football like normal guys 🏟️.

I'm a bit surprised that Alonso is taking all the heat from the players though. I mean, if he's not performing, maybe it's time for someone else to take over? But at the same time, you can see why they'd want to stick by him - he's been around the block a few times, and he knows what it takes to win. It's like my old man used to say: "You can't change your team in December when you're struggling, but sometimes you gotta shake things up." Maybe Alonso just needs to take some advice from the players... or maybe not 🤷‍♂️.

I'm really curious about Xabi Alonso right now 🤔. I mean, he's been in this situation before and usually manages to bounce back, but things are looking pretty dire for Real Madrid. If the players are rallying around him, that's a good sign, but at the same time, it feels like they're just trying to support him instead of leading by example 🤷‍♂️.

The thing is, when you're in Alonso's shoes, it's hard not to take it personally, especially if you're someone who's as invested in the team as he is. I think what would really help him is if he just takes a step back and lets his players take ownership of the team for a bit 🏃‍♂️.

We've seen it before where when things aren't going well, a manager gets the boot, but Alonso's situation feels different because there's that sense of camaraderie among the players. I'm rooting for him to make it work, but if Madrid can get back on track soon, then maybe he'll be able to keep his job 😊.

😕 I feel bad for Xabi Alonso, he's been doing a great job as manager and his players seem to support him, but it's not like the results are coming through 🤔. 2 losses in 4 days is not something you can just shrug off, especially when you're playing at home ⚽️. I think he needs to take a closer look at his tactics and see if there's anything that could be tweaked to get the team more wins. His players seem to have his back, but like Rodrygo said, it's a "difficult moment" for everyone 😩. I hope Madrid can turn things around soon, Alonso deserves it 💪

idk why madrids manager is getting so much flak 4 this one loss 2 city lol Alonso was there 4 the opening goal & got the crowd goin' 2, but u think that's all he needs? 2 turn around the team? news 2 me says his players got his back now, thats a start, at least thibaut courtois is still standin by him 😂

man this is getting intense for xabi alonso... like he's trying so hard to turn things around and the players are coming out in support but you can tell there's still some doubt 😬 the pressure is on madrid to get back to form ASAP or else alonzo might be toast 🤯 he needs to find a way to make his team believe in him again, it's not just about having the players' backs, it's about winning games and getting results 💪
