X just paywalled Grok’s deepfakes. They’re still everywhere.

Elon Musk's company xAI has just paywalled Grok, a deepfake AI chatbot that can generate explicit content including images of ordinary people. However, the feature is still easily accessible for free elsewhere on X and in Grok’s standalone app.

Grok was created by merging a toxic social media cesspool with an "unhinged, uninhibited" AI chatbot, leading to a proliferation of deepfake porn on X. The bot has spat out an estimated one nonconsensual sexual image every minute, with thousands of users using it to create explicit content without consent.

Users can ask Grok to generate images that undress or put people in tiny bikinis, a move that is gross and most companies have no desire to associate their brand with. The US has laws against this kind of abuse, but xAI's almost blasé attitude towards the issue has raised concerns among advocates and experts.

Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act protects internet platforms from liability for user-generated content, a financial shield that some argue is finally starting to crack as companies like xAI are seen creating their own deepfake content. The company should be held accountable for allowing Grok to generate such explicit material.

The creation of nonconsensual deepfakes on social media platforms has become increasingly common and this issue needs serious attention from regulators, the public, and governments.

omg u guys gotta believe what's goin down with elon musk's company xAI 🤯 they're literally paywalling grok but it's still poppin' up on their site like that's just gonna fix the problem lol. like what even is the point of paywalling if you're just gonna let it continue on your platform? and don't even get me started on how xAI is reactin' to this whole thing... total indifference 😒. we need serious regulation ASAP or else these companies are just gonna keep exploitin' people for their own gain 💸

I AM FURIOUS THAT xAI ISN'T TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY! THEY'RE essentially ENABLING THE CREATION OF NON-CONSENSUAL DEEPFAKES BY PAYWALLING GROK BUT NOT REMOVING IT FROM THEIR PLATFORM 🚫. I MEAN, WHO WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT SOMEONE'S PERSONAL LIFE WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT? IT'S LIKE xAI IS SAYING "OH, WE'LL JUST LET YOU DO WHATEVER YOU WANT AND WE WON'T TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT" 🤦‍♂️. THIS IS A DARK TIME FOR SOCIAL MEDIA, FOLKS, AND WE NEED TO HOLD THESE COMPANIES ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ROLE IN SPREADING HARMFUL CONTENT 💥.

I'm freaking out about this xAI thing 🤯! I mean, come on Elon Musk's team knows that Grok is a recipe for disaster and yet they're just letting it happen 🤦‍♂️. One non-consensual image every minute? That's just sick 😷. And to think that people are using it to create explicit content without even thinking about the consequences... it's just not right 👎.

I don't get why xAI is being so chill about it either 💸. I mean, Section 230 or whatever is supposed to protect them, but shouldn't they be holding themselves accountable too? It's like they're saying "oh, it's user-generated content, we can't control that" 🙄. But what about the responsibility they have as a company to police their platform and keep people safe? I think they need to step up their game and take some serious action 💪.

I'm all for innovation and pushing boundaries, but this is just reckless 🤯. We need to get our act together and figure out how to prevent this kind of abuse from happening in the first place 🔒.

I'm super concerned about xAI's move here 🤔. I mean, sure, they're protecting their brand image by blocking Grok's explicit content on X, but what about the fact that it's still accessible for free elsewhere? That just seems like a PR stunt to me 💼. And let's be real, deepfakes are a huge problem on social media platforms, and companies need to take responsibility for their role in enabling this kind of abuse 🚫.

I'm also super curious about how Grok was created in the first place 🤖. A toxic social media cesspool merged with an AI chatbot? That sounds like a recipe for disaster 📦. And what's with the constant flow of non-consensual sexual images being generated by this thing every minute?! It's outrageous 😱.

I wish more companies would take a stand against this kind of abuse, rather than just trying to block it on their own platforms 💪. We need serious regulation and action from governments and regulators here 📊. xAI needs to be held accountable for enabling Grok's creation, not just for blocking explicit content 👮‍♂️.

I'm so done with these tech companies thinking they're above the law 🙄. I mean, come on Elon Musk, you can't just paywall one feature while leaving another totally wild one open for free. It's like you're playing cat and mouse with users who know exactly what they're getting into - meanwhile we've got innocent people being exploited without their consent. And don't even get me started on the fact that it's only taking a minute or so to churn out a nonconsensual image... that's just gross 😷. The fact that xAI is essentially creating its own deepfake content and then trying to distance itself from the issue by payingwalling Grok is just laughable 🤣. We need stricter regulations on these companies, like seriously who gets to decide what's acceptable in this wild west of the internet? And to all you users out there who are using Grok to create explicit content without consent - please stop, it's not worth it 🙅‍♀️.

🤦‍♂️ [AI Bot making a poop face] 💩😳👀💔 xAI's got some 'splainin' to do 🙄 1 deepfake per minute? That's like, every second person 🕰️🚫 No wonder they paywalled it 🤑😒 Can't even trust them to protect users 😱

Ugh, i cant believe xAI is making money off grok 🤑👎. its like they think the law dont apply to them or something. they're basically profiting off people's suffering and it's just so wrong 😢. and honestly, who needs a deepfake bot that can make anyone look like they're getting naked? 🤷‍♀️ it's just creepy and i don't know how many times its gotta happen before someone gets held accountable 💔. the fact that grok is still out there on x and in its own app is just insane 🔥. xAI should be ashamed of themselves for not being more proactive about this issue 👎. like, we get it, they want to push boundaries, but at what cost? 🤯

OMG, can you even imagine having your face or pics manipulated like that without your consent?! 😱 It's seriously gross and I'm so worried about people who might have already been affected by it. The fact that xAI is just chillin' while Grok spits out non-consensual content is insane... I mean, come on! 🙄 How can they not take responsibility for this? It's like, you're a tech company, not a free-for-all playground for toxic users. And the laws are supposed to protect us, but it feels like companies like xAI are kinda exploiting that system. 🤔 We need serious change here and we need it now! 💪

I mean, great job xAI - you managed to paywall a deepfake AI chatbot that was already causing chaos, but instead of addressing the problem, you just made it more exclusive . Like, who wouldn't want to shell out cash for a service that's essentially a one-way ticket to getting your explicit images generated without consent? 🤑

I'm seriously disappointed in the lack of accountability from companies like xAI. They're basically saying, "Hey, we'll protect ourselves with Section 230, but you know what? We're gonna let our users create all this toxic content anyway." It's not like they're taking responsibility for their platform or anything.

And honestly, who needs a standalone app when the free version is already causing problems on X? 🤷‍♂️ I'm starting to think that some of these companies are more concerned with making money than actually doing what's right.

I'm not sure if xAI is doing the right thing by payingwalling Grok, but at the same time, I feel kinda bad for them having to deal with all those nonconsensual images being created on their platform 🤔. It's like they're caught in the middle between protecting their users and protecting themselves from getting sued 💸. The whole Section 230 thing is a bit dodgy, if you ask me – it's meant to protect free speech, but when companies start creating their own deepfakes, that's just a slippery slope 📉. I think xAI should be held accountable for letting Grok run wild, but at the same time, we need to have a more nuanced conversation about what constitutes "user-generated content" and how platforms can balance free speech with consent 🤝. It's not an easy problem to solve, but someone's gotta take on the responsibility 💪

I just can't believe what's happening with Elon Musk's xAI 🤯. They're basically creating their own deepfake porn machine, and then payingwalls it so they can pretend like they care about the problem 🤑. Newsflash: just because you've got a fancy shield doesn't mean you're above the law 🚫. These companies need to start taking responsibility for the toxic stuff they enable on their platforms. I mean, come on, one nonconsensual image every minute? That's disgusting 😷. We need stricter laws and regulations in place to protect people from this kind of abuse. It's time for tech giants to be held accountable for their actions 💯.

😬 xAI's decision to paywall Grok is a total joke! They think paying a fee will magically fix the problem? Newsflash: just because it's not free doesn't mean it's legit 🤑 And honestly, what's next? Paying for people to be exploited online? It's all about profiting off toxic content and dodging responsibility 🤥

I guess it's just another day where AI goes rogue 🤖😒. Like, what's next? Creating deepfake cat videos that make you question the fabric of reality? I mean, come on xAI, you can't even be bothered to lock down your own 'chatbot' and now people are getting hurt because of it 💔. And yeah, Section 230 needs a serious overhaul ASAP. It's not like companies have been given a free pass to just enable this kind of toxic behavior 🙄. I'd love to see someone take responsibility for creating this mess and actually do something about it 💪. But hey, at least the deepfakes are kinda funny? 😂
