World Darts Championship to remain at Alexandra Palace until at least 2031

Alexandra Palace set to host world's biggest darts party until 2031, says new five-year deal.

The World Darts Championship is staying at Alexandra Palace in north London for the next five years, with a new deal confirmed by the Professional Darts Corporation. According to chief executive Matt Porter, the venue has "become synonymous with the World Darts Championship", and will host the event from 2027, when the larger Great Hall comes into use.

The move is expected to boost attendance figures significantly, as the venue can now accommodate an extra 70,000 fans. Demand for tickets has never been higher, Porter added, citing Alexandra Palace's unique atmosphere as a major draw.

This year's tournament gets underway on December 11, with the final taking place on January 3, 2026. Luke Littler, just 18 years old, will be looking to defend his title after becoming darts' youngest world champion last month by beating Michael van Gerwen in the final.

I'm not entirely sure why they're getting so hyped about this new deal ๐Ÿค”. I mean, it's a five-year contract that just extends an event we've been having at Alexandra Palace for years already. The venue has always felt pretty meh to be honest ๐Ÿ˜. The darts party might get a boost in attendance with the extra space, but is it really worth getting this excited about? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I guess if you're into that sort of thing, go for it! Just not sure what all the fuss is about ๐Ÿ™„

I don't know how I feel about this... ๐Ÿค” Like, on one hand, hosting the World Darts Championship for another five years is a no-brainer - it's become super iconic and fans love it! 70k more seats can only make attendance go through the roof, which is awesome for the sport. But, at the same time... I'm not sure if Alexandra Palace is really the best venue for this kind of event. It's pretty old-school, and I think a modern darts fan like Luke Littler might get bored with it after a while... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm so stoked they're extending the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace for another five years ๐Ÿ˜†๐ŸŽฏ! The extra capacity is gonna make it even more lit, I can already imagine the electric atmosphere when all those fans pack in. Can you imagine being part of that sea of darts enthusiasts? It's gonna be pandemonium ๐Ÿคช but in a good way, you know? And Luke Littler's gonna have some serious competition to defend his title next year... Bring it on! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

lol what's up guys, so like alexandra palace is gonna be hosting this huge darts party until 2031? that's a long time to be stuck in one place, i'm pretty sure some of those dart players would've aged out by then ๐Ÿคฃ. but for real though, it's cool that they're giving the venue more space, it should help with crowd numbers, maybe we'll even get some new fans who aren't just there for the beer and nachos ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ‘€. on a related note, i wonder what the best darts party outfit is? like, do you dress up in full pinstripe or go for a more casual look? probably gonna be a tie-dye jersey with "i'm the champion" emblazoned across the back ๐Ÿ’ช.

๐Ÿค” I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda surprised they extended the deal for another five years ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Don't get me wrong, Alexandra Palace has become this iconic venue for the World Darts Championship, but can we talk about how weird it is that Luke Littler became world champ at 18? Like, what's up with that? Did he just wake up one day and suddenly become a darts prodigy or something? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Anyway, I guess it's cool they're gonna be able to fit more fans in there now. The extra seating capacity is def a plus for attendance figures ๐Ÿ“ˆ, but let's not forget how commercialized the whole thing gets once you get inside the venue... still, can't deny the excitement around it ๐ŸŽ‰

omg can u believe this?! ๐Ÿคฏ alexandra palace is gonna host the biggest darts party EVER for the next 5 years! ๐Ÿ˜Ž and it's not just about the darts, think about all those new fans that'll be drawn in by the extra space (70k more seats? mind blown!) and the awesome atmosphere. i'm defo stoked to see luke littler defend his title again - he was so young when he won last month ๐Ÿคฉ and now he's got an entire 5 years to shine! ๐ŸŒŸ can't wait for dec 11th to roll around ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿค” I'm not really sure why this is a big deal but idk, maybe it's because it shows that some things can bring people together? Like, who doesn't love a good game of darts? But for real though, ยฃ70 million over five years seems like a lot of public money being spent on something that's just a party ๐ŸŽ‰. I mean, is this really what we want to be investing in right now? Shouldn't we be focusing on more pressing issues like climate change or income inequality? Just saying... ๐Ÿ’ธ

omg i just found out about this deal and im so stoked theyre extending it for another 5 yrs lol alexandra palace is already an iconic venue but now its going to be even more epic with that extra 70k capacity cant wait for the darts party of the century in 2027 ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ™„ so they're making Alexandra Palace a permanent fixture for this thing... like we haven't had enough traffic congestion around there already ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’จ and now we get to add 70,000 more fans to the mix? I'm sure the locals are just thrilled about that ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. Guess it's another reason to avoid the area during peak hours unless you're a huge darts fan (in which case, good for you... I guess ๐Ÿ˜’).

omg what an awesome deal!!! ๐Ÿคฉ alexandra palace is gonna host the world's biggest darts party for the next 5 yrs and i'm low-key hyped ๐Ÿ˜† it's great to see the event stayin at one place, it'll be so much easier for fans to find their way around and the extra space will def boost attendance figures ๐Ÿš€ plus the new year the darts championship will move to the bigger hall which is gonna be lit ๐Ÿ”ฅ can't wait to see luke littler defend his title next yr he's such an inspiration ๐Ÿ’ช

I'm so over how outdated this forum looks lol ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿšฎ can we please get a redesign already?! ๐Ÿ™„ anyway, back to this news... 70k more fans is crazy but I wonder if they're gonna keep the atmosphere intact after all these new developments ๐Ÿค” and btw, who's excited for Luke Littler defending his title? ๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‘

I'm gonna miss my annual pint down at the pub watching the darts tournament ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿฐ but I guess it's cool that Alexandra Palace is getting a new five-year deal to host the whole shebang! 70,000 extra fans can only be a good thing for the atmosphere and all that. Can't say I'm a huge darts fan myself, but my mate Luke Littler is doing alright for himself at 18 years old... still a bit of a kid, innit? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

man i cant believe theyre extendin the deal for like 5 more years lol alexandra palace is gonna get even crazier with all those dart fans comin thru ๐Ÿคฏ 70k extra seats is insane, cant wait to see luke littler defend his title again last month was crazy he was so young and just took down michael van gerwen ๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ‘ what a legend in the makin

I'm calling BS on this one ๐Ÿค‘ ... I mean, a five-year deal that's already happening now seems kinda suspicious. Can we get some more info on how this deal came about? Like, what was the bidding process like? Did they even consider other venues? I need some sources on this before I start celebrating ๐Ÿ˜. And 70k more fans attending? That sounds fishy to me... is it just a PR stunt to boost ticket sales? Don't get me wrong, Alexandra Palace is an awesome venue, but we need some concrete proof before I'm sold on this deal ๐Ÿ’ธ

I'm so stoked about this news ๐Ÿคฉ! The World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace is like, the ultimate experience for any darts fan, you know? They're really going all out to make it even bigger and better with that new deal - an extra 70k seats is insane! I'm sure it'll bring in a ton of revenue and get more people hyped about the sport. I mean, who wouldn't want to see their favorite players like Luke Littler go up against Michael van Gerwen? The atmosphere at Alexandra Palace is already electric, so I can only imagine how crazy it's gonna be now! ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

๐ŸŽฏ๐Ÿ’ฅ I'm so stoked about this news! The World Darts Championship has been a staple of London's entertainment scene for ages and now they're extending their stay at Alexandra Palace. That extra 70k capacity is gonna make it even more electric, you know? Can't wait to see Luke Littler defend his title against all comers next year ๐Ÿคž
