Will Stuart: Bath prop a doubt for England's Six Nations campaign

Bath prop Will Stuart is in serious doubt for England's Six Nations campaign after suffering a suspected Achilles tendon injury in their 40-14 victory over Munster in the Champions Cup. Stuart, who started ahead of Joe Heyes at tighthead last month, hobbled off the field in the 49th minute and left the Recreation Ground in a protective boot.

Bath head coach Johan van Graan said that Stuart "is not in a good way" with what appears to be an Achilles injury, adding that he could not even stand up when pulled off the field. Van Graan described Stuart's condition as "very serious," but will have to wait for further medical updates before making any decisions about his availability.

Stuart is one of several options available to Steve Borthwick at tighthead, including Joe Heyes and Afolabi Fasogbon from Gloucester, with Billy Sela also in the mix. However, Asher Opoku-Fordjour's elbow injury will keep him out until early January, while Trevor Davison from Northampton is a more experienced option.

England's Six Nations campaign begins on February 7 against Wales at home, and Stuart's absence would be a significant blow to their chances of success.

Omg u guys I'm literally dying πŸ˜‚ I was watching the match with my bf Alex and we're both massive rugby fans πŸ‰πŸ’ͺ He just texted me that Will Stuart got injured during the game & now he's in doubt for England's Six Nations πŸ€•πŸ‘Ž The injury looks super bad from what I saw - he hobbled off the field with a boot on πŸ˜“ Johan van Graan said it's very serious so fingers crossed he gets back soon 🀞 I have to ask though... who else do they think can play tighthead now? We were talking about it during the match & Joe Heyes is actually pretty good πŸ’ͺ Alex just told me that Billy Sela is in the mix too πŸ€” anyway, we're all sending Will Stuart our best wishes πŸ’•

Achilles tendon injuries are the worst πŸ€•πŸ₯. You can see Will Stuart hobbling off the field and it's already looking grim for him. I mean, the coach said he couldn't even stand up when pulled off – that's a serious sign. The good news is there are some decent options at tighthead, like Joe Heyes or Billy Sela, so England won't be completely exposed if Stuart's out. But still, it's not ideal timing for him to go down. Does anyone know how long the injury is looking like? Maybe they can get him back on track before the Six Nations kick off 🀞

man this achilles tendon injury is like a reminder that our bodies are fragile & unpredictable πŸ€• it's crazy how one wrong move can throw us off course & leave us struggling to get back on track. i mean, will stuart be able to recover in time for the six nations? or is this just another setback in an already packed schedule? the uncertainty is what's really bothering me - not just about his absence but about the fragility of our athletic bodies & the constant risk of injury πŸ€”

omg 😱 i'm really worried about will stuart he looked so in pain on the field πŸ€• i think it's really bad news for england's six nations campaign without him 🚨 they were counting on him at tighthead and now joe heyes is gonna have to step up 🀞 fingers crossed he gets better soon 🀞

omg this is so bad news for england rugby πŸ€• will stuart be out for a while? i was thinking he'd be a solid pick for the six nations πŸ‰ hope they can find another tighthead who can fill in his shoes tho πŸ‘€ joe heyes and fasogbon seem like decent options, fingers crossed they step up their game βš”οΈ

omg can't believe how unlucky Will Stuart is πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ, first it's his injury and now he gets benched in the next match πŸ˜’, what's up with that? i mean i get it injuries happen but this guy's always been one of my faves 🀩 still super worried about england though, who's gonna step up for them at tighthead? 😬 got to feel for joey heyes too, was doing so well last month πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. fingers crossed for will though, hope he makes a speedy recovery πŸ’ͺ!

man this achilles thing is so overrated everyone's gotta do it πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ i mean will stuart is a talented player but come on how many times have we seen guys get injured just from being on the pitch? πŸ€• and now england's got no one to play tighthead for their six nations match and they're gonna put all their hopes on joe heyes again? πŸ˜’ what about giving some young players a chance? or maybe even billy sela who's been doing alright in his games? i'm just saying it feels like every other week someone's getting hurt πŸ€•

OMG u guys!! 🀯 I'm literally freaking out rn!! Will Stuart was my favorite player in the Bath team & now he's injured πŸ€• Achilles tendon injury is NO JOKE! I mean I know he's not even played against Munster yet but still it's a serious doubt for the Six Nations πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ

I don't care if there are other tighthead options available Steve Borthwick should pick Stuart over everyone else!! He was on fire last month & we all loved watching him smash tackles 🀘 I'm really hoping he recovers soon or at least gets a decent medical update so we know what's gonna happen 🀞

If Stuart can't make it to the Six Nations England's chances just got slimmer πŸ˜” They'll have to rely on other players who aren't as skilled as Stuart & Wales will totally take advantage of that πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€• this is so bad news for england rugby πŸ‰ the loss of will stuart would definitely hurt their six nations chances ⚽️ they need someone stable at tighthead and now it seems like that might not happen soon 😬 maybe steve borthwick can find a reliable back up in the squad?

Omg I can imagine how bad it must be for Will Stuart πŸ€•πŸˆ! One of the biggest tackles I've seen in school rugby was like that too when my friend went down πŸ˜‚ but not good for him! Hope he gets better ASAP so England can prepare for the Six Nations without him 🀞. It's crazy how injuries happen just like that, you're literally on the field one minute and done πŸ’”. Poor guy, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery ⏱️!
