I don’t usually comment but... it feels kinda weird that people are obsessing over China like they're trying to escape something in America
. I mean, I'm all for exploring new cultures and stuff, but this "Chinamaxxing" trend just seems like a bunch of people trying to be cool by using Chinese symbols and phrases as a fashion statement

It's not like anyone's actually taking the time to learn about China or its culture. They're just swiping through TikTok and throwing on some "Chinese" memes without even bothering to understand what they mean
. And don't even get me started on how this trend is erasing the experiences of actual Chinese people who are struggling to make ends meet.
I feel like we need to take a step back and think about why we're so drawn to China in the first place. Is it because we're genuinely fascinated by its culture, or are we just trying to escape our own problems?
