OMG I'M SO GLAD THIS MAN IS TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS ACTIONS!!! HE PUT THOSE LITTLE KIDS IN DANGER AND NOW HE'S PAYING THE PRICE! I don't even think about the fact that he's only 56, it's still so irresponsible of him to let a 6-year-old drive a powerful vehicle like an ATV. And what if his son had gotten hurt even more seriously?!?! The kid is lucky to be alive after all that! Kelley should be punished harshly for this, but at least he's being honest and taking accountability...now the community service and safety course might just teach him a lesson and help prevent something like this from happening again!
This is just heartbreaking, another UTV accident involving kids... how can you blame it on the kid who was driving? I mean, we've all seen those videos of kids learning to ride a bike or scooter and falling off - it's part of the learning process! But come on, being 6 years old doesn't mean someone's not responsible enough to follow basic safety rules... The dad took full responsibility for supervising the boys, but that's just not good enough. He needs to take more blame for putting his own kids in harm's way. I'm glad he pleaded guilty and is taking steps to learn from this mistake... still, it's a harsh sentence - 100 hours of community service feels like a slap on the wrist considering the severity of the injuries that kid sustained.
Oh man this is just terrible! I mean, I'm all for kids having fun on ATVs, but not when they're just starting to learn how to ride them! Samuel Kelley's decision to let his 6-year-old son drive a Polaris Ranger 500 UTV with two other kids on board was just reckless. The fact that he knew the age restrictions and still did it is just crazy. I hope the young boy recovers fully from those injuries, though . And yeah, the fact that one of the passengers wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash just makes things worse. Kelley's gonna have to pay for his mistake now - 100 hours of community service and an ATV safety course? That's not enough .
