Venezuela says U.S. unilaterally suspended migrant repatriation flights after Trump called for airspace to be viewed as closed

US Unilaterally Suspends Migrant Repatriation Flights to Venezuela After Trump's Tweet

The US has unilaterally suspended migrant repatriation flights to Venezuela, the country's government said on Saturday, in response to President Donald Trump's tweet that Venezuela's airspace should be considered "closed in its entirety." The statement was released by the Venezuelan government in response to Mr. Trump's post on social media.

Venezuela's government demanded "unrestricted respect" for its airspace and described the US move as a "hostile, unilateral, and arbitrary act incompatible with international law." The country's president, NicolΓ‘s Maduro, has been at odds with the US over several issues, including allegations of human rights abuses and economic mismanagement.

The White House did not respond to questions about Mr. Trump's post, which appeared to signal further pressure on Mr. Maduro's government. The US has increased its military presence in the Caribbean region in recent weeks, with the deployment of a naval fleet and fighter jets.

International airlines had already begun canceling flights to Venezuela due to heightened military activity in the country. The Venezuelan government said that the suspension of migrant repatriation flights was part of the US move to "undermine the sovereignty" of its airspace.

The Trump administration has been seeking to pressure Mr. Maduro's government, which it does not recognize as legitimate. Mr. Trump has publicly floated the idea of talking to Mr. Maduro, despite criticism from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

The situation in Venezuela remains volatile, with more than 80 people killed in US strikes against suspected smugglers since early September. The US military is maintaining a large presence in the region, including nearly a dozen Navy ships and about 12,000 sailors and Marines.

Ugh, I'm getting so sick of these politicians being all dramatic πŸ™„... Like, what's next? Are they gonna close the whole country just 'cause Trump said so? 🀯 It's not even like he actually did anything to help the situation, just tweet some nonsense and expect everyone to listen. And Venezuela's government is right to be mad, I mean, who does the US think it is? Can't we all just get along... or at least, try to solve problems peacefully? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ It's like they're not even trying anymore πŸ˜’.

idk why ppl r making such a big deal outta this... venezuela's airspace was already kinda restricted anyway πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. trump's tweet was just a way to send a message, not like it was a formal declaration or something. usa's gonna do what they wanna do, and venezuela can't stop 'em πŸ˜’. might as well get used to the idea that their airspace is kinda off-limits 🚫. don't really see how this is affecting anyone except maybe the airlines who got their flights canceled... πŸ‘Ž

🚫 this whole thing is just so ridiculous... like, who does trump think he's being? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ i mean, suspending migrant repatriation flights without even talking to the venezuelan government first? that's not diplomacy, that's just bullying πŸ˜’. and what's with the airspace thing? it's like, come on, you can't just declare an entire country's airspace off-limits because of some tweet 🚫. international law is there for a reason, folks! 🀝

omg u guys can't believe whats goin on w/ venezuela 🀯 the us just suspended migrant repatriation flights like, what even is the point of that? Venezuela's airspace is gettin shut down b/c trump's tweet and it's literally a huge deal 🚫 the venezuelan gov is all mad about it too, sayin its an "arbitrary act incompatible w/ international law" πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ like, can't we just resolve stuff peacefully? πŸ˜”

omg, usa is being super dramatic again πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ what's good with trump's tweet tho? like, is venezuela really that closed off or can they just chill on social media πŸ“±β€β™‚οΈ anywayz, it's kinda weird that they're suspending those flights now... maybe they didn't think thru the consequences πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ like, what about all these ppl stuck in limbo? 🚫😩 international law is one thing but gotta consider human life too, fam πŸ‘₯

Ugh, this is getting really dramatic 😬. So, Trump just tweeted that Venezuela's airspace is "closed in its entirety" and now they're suspending all those migrant repatriation flights 🚫. I feel bad for the people who are trying to get back home but at the same time, I don't blame Venezuela for standing up for their sovereignty πŸ™Œ. It's like, what even is going on over there? πŸ˜‚ The US has been increasing its military presence and now they're just gonna freeze all flights? It's crazy πŸ’₯. I'm not sure how this whole situation is gonna play out but I hope it doesn't lead to any more bloodshed πŸ€•. Can we just have some peace and stability in the region, you know? πŸ˜”

πŸš«πŸ›«οΈ this is getting out of hand, i mean, trump's tweet was just a statement but it seems like the us is going all out on venezuela now... what's next? are they gonna block all flights to the country? that would be crazy 🀯 and what about the people who have been living in venezuela for years, don't they deserve to travel freely too?

i'm not buying that this is just about airspace, there's gotta be more to it than that... seems like the us is trying to exert control over the country and its president. and let's not forget the situation on the ground - 80 people killed already? πŸ€• that's just a bunch of civilians who got caught in the crossfire.

anyway, this whole thing is making me really nervous... i'm following it closely now.

Dude, this whole thing reminds me of when Trump was tweeting crazy stuff during his campaign days πŸ˜‚. It's like, one minute he's talking tough, next minute he's giving an executive order 🚫. The US should really think twice before messing with Venezuela's airspace, you know? It's a sovereign country and all that jazz πŸ™.

I mean, what's the point of having these migrant repatriation flights if they're just gonna get suspended? It's like, what happened to diplomacy and talking things out? We used to do this kind of thing with Cuba back in the '80s, remember? πŸ”΄

And now we've got international airlines canceling flights, it's getting messy 🚫. I guess that's what happens when you're not playing nice with your neighbors πŸ‘₯.

I'm still waiting for some real answers from the White House about Trump's tweet... πŸ€”

πŸ˜‚πŸš«βœˆοΈ Trump thinks he's flying solo now πŸ›«οΈ [image of Elmer Fudd saying "Shhh. Be vewy quiet, I'm suspending flights to Venezuela"]

US airlines just got a new motto: "We're not serving Venezuela, we're just not serving" 🀣 [gif of a plane taking off with a giant "X" marked through the destination]

omg this is getting crazy 🀯 like what's next? they're gonna shut down all flights to venezuela? that's just gonna hurt more people who are already struggling to get food or water let's hope there's a good reason behind this move, maybe something about safety but also think it's a bit extreme, i mean trump's tweet was pretty bold πŸ€” anyway, can imagine how tough it must be for venezuelans who are already dealing with so much hardship πŸ’”

can you believe trump's tweet just suspended all flights to venezuela? what's going on over there is crazy enough but this is just ridiculous 🀯...i think its more than just about airspace, its about control and power...anyway, just a reminder that international laws are meant to be respected, not torn apart πŸ’” and whats with the usa doing all these military deployments in the caribbean? seems like they're looking for an excuse to intervene.

idk why trump's tweet had to go so far πŸ€”πŸš«... i mean, can't we just chill? πŸ˜…... but at the same time, i don't blame venezuela for pushing back πŸ™Œ... they gotta protect their airspace, you know? πŸ’ͺ... and i'm like, what's with all this US military presence in the caribbean tho? 🀯 it's getting out of hand 🚨... on one hand, it's true that Maduro's gov has been super sketchy πŸ”... but on the other, shouldn't they be able to govern their own airspace without some rich guy telling them what to do πŸ’Έ?

so what's going on here? πŸ€” the us just suspended flights to venezuela because of some tweet by trump... isn't that kinda extreme? i mean, shouldn't they be talking to each other like normal countries? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ anyway, this is getting pretty heated between the two governments. i wonder if it's gonna affect the people living in venezuela? do they have to deal with more flights cancelled or what? 🚫 and what about all these alleged human rights abuses... should we really be pressuring one country like that without looking into everything first? πŸ€”

🀯 I'm telling ya, back in my day we didn't need all these tweets to get things done... or make people fly somewhere! πŸ˜‚ What's with Trump and Venezuela? Can't he just talk to Maduro like a normal president instead of tweeting his head off? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ And what about the airlines who are gonna lose money because of this? I mean, you gotta think about the people affected, not just the politics. 🚫 The US is being super dramatic as usual... "closed in its entirety" - sounds like something out of a bad movie πŸŽ₯! Can't we all just get along and figure some stuff out peacefully? πŸ˜”

its like us doing this unilateral thingy with venezuela airspace...
```
+---------------+
UNREST
( Airspace
considered
closed in
its entirety)
+---------------+
```
i think trumps tweet was a bit harsh though πŸ€” ... i mean, cant we just communicate instead of sending out warnings? and what about all the ppl trying to migrate to venezuela for better life? its not like theyre doin nothin wrong 😞
we should find ways 2 resolve conflicts peacefully πŸ’•
international law matters a lot, i guess πŸ€“

I don't usually comment but... honestly, I think this whole thing is getting out of hand 🀯. Trump's tweet just escalated things and now the Venezuelan government is saying they're not taking it lying down 🚫. It's like, can't we all just calm down for a second? πŸ™„ The US has a point about Venezuela's airspace being a mess, but suspending flights is like, way too extreme ⬇️. I don't think anyone wants a war on the internet πŸ˜‚... or in this case, over Twitter πŸ‘€. It's all just so dramatic and unnecessary πŸ’”. Can't we focus on finding solutions instead of shouting at each other πŸ—£οΈ?

lol what's next? 🀣 the trump admin thinks they can just tweet whatever and everyone else has to roll with it πŸ™„ i mean come on guys, airspace isn't like a private club membership 🚫 and those ppl living in venezuela deserve help too πŸ˜” international law is real 🌎

omg, what's next? 🀯 the US just suspended all flights to Venezuela because of some tweet from Trump. like, can't they just talk it out or something? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ i don't get why they're being so aggressive about this. the situation in Venezuela is already super messed up, do we really need more drama? πŸ€” Maduro's got a lot on his plate with all the economic and human rights stuff going on... maybe he just needs some space and support from other countries instead of being attacked by Trump's tweets. 🚫
