Ukraine’s allies sign declaration on troop deployment after ceasefire

🤔 This is a big deal for Ukraine, I guess. Can't say I'm surprised about the US stepping in with their monitoring mechanism tho. They've been involved from the start 🤑. Macron's words sound all nice 'n' diplomatic but it's gonna be hard to actually make this work. Russia ain't exactly known for their commitment to peace talks 💁‍♂️. Still, a lot of progress has been made so far and that's gotta count for something 🤞. Wonder what'll happen when the troops do finally arrive...

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this deal 🤔. 35 countries agreeing on robust security guarantees for Ukraine? That's a big ask. Where are these guarantees coming from? What exactly does France mean by "solid and lasting peace"? Is that just empty rhetoric or is there actual substance behind it?

And what about the US-led monitoring mechanism? How will that work, exactly? Will they be sending in troops to keep an eye on Russia's actions or just setting up some sort of observer post? We need more details here 💡

I'm also curious about the territorial question. Ukraine giving up its eastern Donbas region? That's a huge concession. Is this deal really going to hold up under pressure, or is it just another Band-Aid solution for a much bigger problem? 🤕

🤔 I'm all for Ukraine getting some much-needed security guarantees, but let's not get too carried away here. We're talking about Russia having a war on its neighbor – that's a pretty big deal. Can we trust Putin to actually stick to any peace agreement? 🤷‍♂️ The fact that Germany is gonna join the monitoring force from a neighboring country kinda raises an eyebrow for me. What exactly are they hiding? 🔍 Still, I suppose it's better than nothing, and I do hope this leads to some much-needed stability in Ukraine. But we gotta keep our eyes open here – there are still so many what-ifs. 💡
