UFC Qatar: Ian Machado Garry beats Belal Muhammad and demands title shot

Ian Machado Garry has cemented his position as the number one contender for the UFC Welterweight Championship, defeating Belal Muhammad by unanimous decision at UFC Qatar in Doha. The 28-year-old Irishman improved his record to 17-0 with a convincing victory over the former champion, showcasing his skill and determination.

Garry's performance was impressive, as he landed 72 significant strikes to Muhammad's 56, dominating the fight from start to finish. Despite some early struggles, Garry adapted his strategy and outclassed Muhammad in the later rounds, securing the unanimous decision victory.

The win has sent shockwaves through the UFC Welterweight division, with many pundits hailing Garry as the new favorite to face champion Islam Makhachev for the title. Garry himself is confident that he can take on the Russian and claim the championship, declaring himself "the best in the world" and asserting his right to a title shot.

Garry's victory over Muhammad may have altered the landscape of the welterweight division, but it also raises questions about the challengers waiting in the wings. Fighters like Carlos Prates and Michael Morales, who recently secured big wins against top contenders Leon Edwards and Sean Brady, respectively, may now be viewed as potential threats to Garry's title ambitions.

The Russian champion Makhachev remains undefeated since 2015 and has not lost an MMA fight in over a decade. He will look to extend his dominance by defending his title against Garry, who is eager to claim the championship and put himself on the map as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport.

The stage is now set for a highly anticipated showdown between two of the world's top welterweight contenders. The question on everyone's mind is: can Ian Machado Garry dethrone Islam Makhachev and become the new champion?

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ I'm literally so hyped about this!!! Ian Machado Garry is like a rockstar now ๐Ÿ’ฅ! He totally dominated Belal Muhammad in that fight & proved himself to be an unstoppable force ๐ŸŒช๏ธ. I mean, 72 significant strikes landed is insane ๐Ÿคฏ! And yeah, he's gonna be the new favorite to face Makhachev for the title... but can he do it? ๐Ÿ˜… Garry says he's the best in the world & I'm here for it ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ. Carlos Prates and Michael Morales might try to take him down though ๐Ÿค”... we'll just have to wait & see how this all plays out ๐Ÿ”ฎ

I'm loving this Garry vs Makhachev matchup! ๐Ÿค” It's gonna be a war, and I'm all about it. I think Garry's got some legit skills, but you can't count out the champ just yet. Makhachev's been on a tear since 2015 and has proven himself to be one of the toughest opponents in the division.

I do think Garry's got the confidence and the skill to take down the champ, though. He's shown he can adapt his strategy mid-fight and come out on top. It's gonna be interesting to see how Makhachev reacts to Garry's aggressive style. Will he be able to adjust and keep his title reign going? I'm keeping an eye on Prates and Morales - they're definitely guys to watch for in the coming fights ๐Ÿคž

Garry's win was solid, but is it gonna be enough to take down Makhachev? I mean, that guy's been on a streak for ages ๐Ÿค”. It's like he's got an endless supply of wins under his belt. I'm curious to see how Garry adapts to facing the champ, 'cause this isn't gonna be a cakewalk. Morales and Prates might actually have a shot if they can keep their momentum going ๐Ÿ’ช. The question is, does Garry's confidence overtake him? He's coming off an amazing win, but Makhachev's gonna come at him with everything he's got ๐ŸฅŠ. This one's gonna be a wild ride!

idk why ppl need to hype up every fight, its just mma ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. garys a good fighter, no doubt, but makhachev's been on top for years, he's not gonna let some young upstart take his title without a fight ๐Ÿ’ช. and whats with all these new faces coming outta nowhere? prates and morales might be decent, but they ain't exactly next in line for the champ ๐Ÿค”. garys gotta prove himself against better opponents before he talks about being the best ๐Ÿ†.

๐Ÿ˜‚ just saw this thread and I'm like woah, didn't know Ian Garry was that hungry! 17-0 record is insane and beating Belal Muhammad in convincing fashion shows he's not to be messed with. But can he take down Makhachev? ๐Ÿค” that's the question. Garry seems confident but has he got what it takes to dethrone the champ? ๐Ÿ† I'm rooting for him, but I don't wanna see him get hurt trying to get to the top... ๐Ÿ’ช

man, this fight is gonna be EPIC ๐Ÿคฏ! i've been following garry for a while now, and he's been building up to this moment his skillset is insane, that dude can throw punches like nobody's business ๐Ÿ˜‚. but at the same time, makhachev is the real deal, undefeated in ages he's got that icy demeanor going on, always seems to stay calm under pressure ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

i think what's gonna make this fight interesting is how garry adapts his strategy mid-fight we all saw him struggle a bit early on against muhammad, but he managed to turn it around and take control. will he be able to replicate that against makhachev? it's a tough one to call ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿค” I'm low-key hyped about this matchup, but at the same time, I gotta respect Islam Makhachev's undefeated streak - that dude is a force to be reckoned with! ๐ŸฅŠ Ian Machado Garry might have gotten past Belal Muhammad, but facing the champ is a whole different story. Can he adapt and outsmart Makhachev? The stakes are high, and I'm here for it ๐Ÿ’ช

You know, people are always talking about being the best in the world... but what does that even mean? Is it just about achieving success or is it about staying humble and grounded when you get there? I'm not saying Ian Garry isn't talented or deserving of a title shot, but has he thought about the journey ahead? The pressure, the expectations, the mental game he'll need to play against Makhachev. It's easy to be confident in victory, but what happens when you're facing an opponent who's almost unbeatable? Can Garry really take on that challenge and come out on top? Or will he find himself falling back down to earth? ๐Ÿค”

I gotta say, I'm loving this Irishman's game right now ๐Ÿคฉ! He's on fire and his confidence is sky-high ๐Ÿ˜Ž. 72 significant strikes against Belal Muhammad? That's a huge swing in momentum ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Now, I know some folks might be thinking that Carlos Prates or Michael Morales could give him a run for his money ๐Ÿค‘... but let's be real, Garry's got the skills and the will to take on anyone ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

And Makhachev? He's still the champ for now, but I think Garry's gonna make it a war ๐Ÿ’ฃ. This is shaping up to be an epic showdown between two of the best welterweights out there ๐Ÿคฏ. Can't wait to see how this one plays out!

Omg, I'm so stoked about Ian Machado Garry's win ๐Ÿคฉ! He's like a total boss in that octagon ๐ŸฅŠ. 17-0 is insane, and to dominate Belal Muhammad like that... wow ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. I'm curious to see how he'll handle Islam Makhachev now. That Russian champ has been on a roll since 2015 ๐Ÿ”. But Garry's confidence is infectious ๐Ÿ‘. I'm rooting for him to take down the champ and show everyone what he's made of ๐Ÿ’ช. Bring it on! ๐ŸŽ‰

I'm still getting used to these new fighters coming out of nowhere, you know? Like when Randy Couture first broke into the scene back in the day... I mean, Garry's got skills for sure, but this Belal Muhammad was tough too. I remember watching Jose Aldo vs. Chan Sung Jung at UFC on FOX 5, that guy was fast as lightning! Anyway, it's gonna be interesting to see how Garry takes on Makhachev now... they're like apples and oranges, you know? One's been on a tear for years, while the other's got momentum behind him. I'm not sure who'd come out on top in that fight ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿค” so i was thinkin, gan gary really knows how to capitalize on his momentum after that crazy win ๐Ÿš€, but can he keep this train rollin'? ๐Ÿ’จ makhachev's undefeated streak is insane, dude ๐Ÿ‘Š, but i feel like gary's got the skills and the speed to give him a run for his money ๐Ÿ’ช. what do u guys think? will we see a dethroning of the champ or just another round of back-and-forth in the welterweight wars ๐ŸฅŠ

omg u gotta love garrys confidence after that win ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ! 17-0 record is insane, he's got this! ๐Ÿคฉ but seriously, makhachev is still a huge threat tho ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. he's been on a roll for so long and isn't known to lose easily ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. i mean, garry's skills are undeniable, but can he outsmart the champ? ๐Ÿค”. either way, it's gonna be an epic battle ๐Ÿ’ฅ and i'm hyped to see how it all plays out! ๐Ÿ‘Š
