Tottenham agree £34.6m deal for Conor Gallagher to head off Aston Villa interest

Spurs Settle on £34.6m Deal for Gallagher as Villa Interest Fades

Tottenham Hotspur have apparently secured the transfer of Conor Gallagher to the Premier League, with the England midfielder agreeing a deal worth up to €40m (£34.6m) with Atlético Madrid.

Gallagher, who has made only four starts in La Liga this season, is expected to strengthen Tottenham's midfield as they seek to bolster their squad following Rodrigo Bentancur's hamstring injury. The 25-year-old midfielder was previously linked with Aston Villa, but the Spanish club appears to have won out on a potential deal that would have included an obligation to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

In contrast, Tottenham are believed to be willing to pay around £25m up front for Gallagher, although bonuses could push the total cost closer to €40m. Manchester United were also linked with the player, but it appears they are no longer in the hunt for him.

Meanwhile, Spurs have grown frustrated with Mathys Tel's lack of game time under Thomas Frank at Aston Villa, and the 20-year-old forward is now open to leaving on loan until the end of the season. Paris FC, Fenerbahçe, and Galatasaray are among the clubs that have expressed interest in taking Tel on a temporary deal, although Tottenham are reluctant to let him leave after selling Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace for £35m.

Spurs are also poised to complete a deal with Santos for 19-year-old left-back Souza, who is expected to strengthen their backline. However, the club remains in the market for attacking reinforcements, with Mohammed Kudus set to be out until April with a thigh injury. RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande and Juventus's Kenan Yildiz have been linked with the club as potential targets.

🔥 I'm loving this move by Spurs! Conor Gallagher is exactly what they needed in that midfield spot, and now they're gonna give him a chance to shine 🌟. £34.6m might seem steep for some, but trust me, it's worth every penny 💸. The guy's got talent pouring out of every pore, and with Spurs' squad depth, he'll get the playing time he deserves ⏰.

And poor Mathys Tel, stuck on the bench at Villa 🤦‍♂️... I'm not surprised he's looking for a loan move elsewhere. Tottenham knew what they were doing when they bought him, but maybe it was a case of "we'll get to you later"... now that Gareth Bale's gone 🏃‍♂️.

Now, about those other signings... Souza looks like an amazing left-back prospect 🤩 and Santos made the right call by letting him go 😎. Kudus is out for a bit, so Spurs need someone ASAP ⏰... Yan Diomande or Kenan Yildiz would be great adds to their squad 🤝. Fingers crossed! 💪

😒 So Spurs managed to land Gallagher for a pretty penny... yeah, because they absolutely needed another midfielder to join the likes of Souleymane Doucouré 🤦‍♂️. I mean, who doesn't love watching a bunch of guys just standing around while Harry Kane does all the scoring? 💔 At least now Spurs can offer him some decent game time and not have to worry about his ego getting too bruised from playing on the bench every week 🏆. On a brighter note, Tel's lack of game time is almost as sad as our favorite football team's transfer policy 🤣. Guess you could say Spurs are really 'buying' their way to a decent season 💸

🤔 I'm loving this move by Spurs! Gallagher is such a talented player and I think he'll really help boost their midfield. £34.6m is still a pretty penny, but I think it's worth it for someone of his caliber 🤑. I'm also intrigued to see how Mathys Tel does on loan - can't say I blame him for wanting out if he's not getting regular playing time 😐. And Souza is a great signing, I'm excited to see him in action 👍

omg this news is super exciting!! ⚡️ Tottenham just landed Conor Gallagher and I'm so hyped for them! 💥 I think he's gonna be a game changer in midfield, especially with Rodrigo Bentancur out injured 🤕. And poor Mathys Tel is still waiting for his chance to shine 😔, hope he gets a loan deal that'll get him playing regularly ASAP 💪. Spurs are on the hunt for more attacking talent tho, fingers crossed they find someone amazing soon! 👍

I think it's crazy that Spurs are willing to shell out almost £35m for a player who's struggled to get game time in La Liga 🤯. Meanwhile, Villa could've had him on an obligation to make the move permanent and now he's open to leaving on loan 📦. It's a shame, because Conor Gallagher does look like a solid addition to Spurs' midfield. But I'm also intrigued by Mathys Tel's situation - if he can get regular game time, he could be a real threat for Spurs going forward 🔥. And that deal for Souza seems like a good move - Spurs need some depth at left-back 👍

just saw that spurs got conor gallagher for 34.6m - think its a bit pricey but i guess they wanna strengthen their midfield after rodrio went down 🤔. might be a good move in the long run tho, they gotta keep up with man utd and city 😊. also hope tel gets a loan deal out there soon, dont want him to get frustrated like brennan did 👍

Just saw that Spurs are going all out for Gallagher 🤯, I mean €40m is a lot of dosh! 💸 But fair play to them, they need a good midfielder to strengthen their squad after Bentancur's injury 🤕. And now that Villa interest has faded away, it looks like Spurs have got the deal sorted 😊. On another note, Tel is getting some decent interest on loan and I'm not surprised, he hasn't seen much playing time at Villa 🤔. Maybe a temporary move to Paris or Fenerbahçe could be just what he needs to get his career back on track ⚽️.

Ugh 🤔, £40m is still pretty steep for me. I get that Spurs want a strong midfield, but is this really the best use of their cash? They're already paying big bucks for other transfers and I'm not convinced Gallagher's worth that kind of investment 💸. I think they should be focusing on getting Mohammed Kudus back ASAP, he's been injured for months now 🤕. And what about Tel? He's got potential but seems to be stuck in limbo over there ⚽️. Tottenham's need to strike a balance between strengthening their squad and not breaking the bank 💰.

I'm lovin' this news about Spurs gettin' Conor Gallagher 🤩! That dude is gonna bring some serious firepower to their midfield, and I think it's a great move for both him and the team. £34.6m is a pretty sweet deal too 💸. I feel bad for Mathys Tel though, gettin' stuck on the bench at Villa 🤕. Hope he gets a loan deal sorted out ASAP so he can get some game time. Meanwhile, Spurs are still lookin' for those attacking reinforcements - fingers crossed they find someone who's gonna make a real difference ⚽️!

😊 omg i cant believe Spurs got Gallagher!!! 🤩 he's gonna bring so much energy to their midfield 💪 esp since Bentancur is out i'm really excited to see him in action ⏰ hope Spurs can finish strong this season 👍

🤔 "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams" 💫 and I think Spurs are about to make that beautiful move by securing Conor Gallagher on a deal worth up to €40m (£34.6m). Now, they just gotta keep this momentum going! ⚽

man i think spurs made an amazing move signing gallagher he's gonna bring so much energy to their midfield and with bentancur out injured they really need him now 🤩🏆 i was thinking villa would get him but it looks like spurs swooped in and won the deal 💼💪

just saw that spurs got conor gallagher for like £34m... seems like a decent deal, not sure if he'll make a big impact but hey at least they're trying to strengthen their midfield 🤔💪 meanwhile, tel is available on loan now which is nice for spurs but kinda harsh on villa fans 😐 tbh, i think man u dropping out of the running for him was the best decision... not sure about souza tho, left back looks interesting 🤷‍♂️

💡 I'm not buying this one, £34.6m for Gallagher? That's a bit steep if you ask me. I'd want to see some more proof that he's going to be worth every penny before throwing all that cash at him. And what's with the Atlético Madrid deal being so generous? 🤑 Sounds like they're trying to get rid of him or something. Maybe Spurs should wait and see how this season goes for Gallagher before making such a big commitment.

🤔 I'm kinda surprised Spurs went all in for Gallagher like that 🤑. I mean, he's not exactly setting the world on fire at Atlético Madrid ⚽️. Maybe it's a savvy move to strengthen their midfield and get ahead of Villa? 💡 On the other hand, Tel's game time has been pretty non-existent at Villa 😔. Could Spurs be trying to avoid losing another decent talent? 🤷‍♂️ One thing's for sure, Tottenham need some attacking reinforcements pronto ⏰! 🔥

I'm not surprised that Spurs are getting Conor Gallagher on a decent deal, his game time has been limited at Villa so I think he'd be a solid addition to their squad 🤔💪 They really need someone to step up and fill Rodrigo's shoes after that injury, and Gallagher seems like the perfect candidate. Atlético Madrid got a bit of a bargain if you ask me, 40m is a pretty penny for a player who hasn't been setting the world on fire in La Liga this season 😂💸 Still, at least Spurs are moving quickly to strengthen their squad before the window closes!

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Spurs' transfer dealings this season 🤯. One minute they're linked to Conor Gallagher, and the next he's off to Atlético Madrid 🚀. I think Spurs are making a good move by bringing in some fresh blood in midfield - it can't have been easy watching Rodrigo Bentancur get injured and having to rely on others for that position 😬.

But what's going on with Mathys Tel? I mean, the kid's not even getting any game time at Villa, yet Spurs are still hesitant to let him go 🤔. Maybe they'll come around soon? On the bright side, Souza looks like a great addition to their backline - can't wait to see him in action ⚽️. Still need some attacking reinforcements, though... fingers crossed those deals happen soon!

OMG 🤩 I'm literally freaking out over this Gallagher deal 😆 Tottenham needed him like, yesterday 💯 now they've got some solid midfielders to shore up their squad 🔄 and we all know how that hamstring injury is gonna screw up their chances at the top 🤦‍♂️ Rodgers needs to find a way to get his team firing on all cylinders ASAP 🔥 I'm still waiting for Spurs to strengthen that attack tho... when are they gonna make some moves 🤑?

OMG, I'm so confused about Spurs' transfers 🤯! First they're chasing Conor Gallagher, then Mathys Tel is like "Hey, I want to leave" 😂. I feel bad for Tel though, he's only 20 and still trying to make a name for himself in the league.

But seriously, Spurs need some decent players ASAP ⏰, especially with Rodrigo Bentancur out injured. Souza sounds like a great signing, can't wait to see him on the pitch 🏟️! And I'm curious about these new targets, RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande and Juventus's Kenan Yildiz... will they be the ones to shake things up at Spurs? 🤔
