I'm a bit worried about social media apps like TikTok that encourage us to scroll endlessly
... I mean, have you ever felt like you're in autopilot mode after using TikTok for hours? It's like your brain is hardwired to keep scrolling and liking without even thinking about it
. It's not healthy, right?
I think this ruling from the European Commission is a good start
... I mean, who doesn't want to be more mindful of how much screen time we're having? But what really bothers me is that TikTok already knows its design is addictive and is still pushing it out there
. It's like they're saying "oh, you can stay up all night scrolling through our app... for free!"
I'm not sure if this ruling will actually make a difference
... but I hope so! We need to take care of ourselves online and offline. And yeah, this sets a precedent for regulating social media platforms... maybe we'll see more changes soon
.
