'The only idea around': will Labour return to a customs union with the EU?

🤔 I'm kinda surprised Labour is even considering this. Like, I get it, they want to boost growth, but rejoining the EU's customs union? It feels like a u-turn 🔄. Starmer's stance on Brexit was pretty clear before he became leader, and now he's having second thoughts? 💭 I'd love to know more about what's driving this change of heart.

I mean, I can see why some pro-European ministers would want to explore this option – it could be a game-changer for the economy. But at the same time, there are so many hurdles to overcome 🚧. Like, how would they even make it work with EU internal politics and all that? 🤯 It's not like the UK can just opt out of tariffs or anything.

I'm not sure if Labour should really consider rejoining the customs union with the EU... I mean, they did promise to leave the single market before Starmer became leader lol 🤔. But at the same time, the UK's economy is kinda struggling and all, so it's worth a shot, right? 🤑 I'm not sure if reversing Brexit would be a good idea for Labour at the next election though - they'd probably get roasted for breaking manifesto promises 😳.

🤔 think its time for labour to swallow their pride & consider customs union if its gonna help uk economy 💸 dont care about brexit drama anymore 🙅‍♂️ starmer seems like a smart guy so maybe he knows whats best for uk 🤓 have been hearing some good things about eu's economic growth & i think we can learn from them 📈
