The Debate - International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women: How is AI reinventing misogyny?

This is so frustrating 🤯 - I mean, think about it, we're living in 2025 and women are still being brutally murdered by their partners every 10 minutes... that's not progress, that's just the status quo 😒. And now with AI coming into play, it's like the perfect storm of patriarchal oppression and technology. But you know what really gets my goat? 🐏 It's how we're all just shying away from this issue, thinking someone else will fix it... men are not going to be the heroes in this fight, they need to step up and take ownership of their actions too. We can't keep pretending that digital abuse is just a 'women's issue', it's an inter-gender problem that requires collective action... let's get real, folks! 💥
 
i'm thinking, what's the point of acknowledging this issue if we don't actually do anything to change it? 🤔 like, we've been talking about violence against women for years now, but what has changed? have we just become desensitized to it or something? i remember when i was younger, my friends and i would always make fun of girls who got "crazy" in public, never realizing how hurtful that was. now, those same guys are grown up and perpetuating this digital abuse stuff, like they think they're so clever using AI to control women online 🚫👎

anyway, the thing is, we can't just blame the men for being sexist or whatever, we gotta look at our own role in it too. i mean, guys are still conditioned to be "macho" and all that, but that's not an excuse for using AI to abuse women online. we need to create a culture where men feel comfortable talking about their feelings and emotions without feeling like they're gonna get teased or judged 🤝

and yeah, regulating these AI tools is super important too, but it's not just about the tech, it's about the societal norms that allow this stuff to happen in the first place. we need to start having conversations about what it means to be a man and how we can support women without using AI or any other tool to control them 💬
