Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers receives injury update after suffering apparent fracture

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a significant injury during the second quarter of his team's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The extent of the damage became apparent when he fell hard on his wrist after being tackled by multiple defenders.

Initially, Rodgers was taken to the blue medical tent and was labeled as questionable to return. However, it was revealed that he would have to miss the remainder of the game with Mason Rudolph taking over starting duties.

Further tests have shown that Rodgers has a small fracture in his left wrist. The good news is that the injury does not seem to be long-term. According to Tom Pelissero, sources close to Rodgers indicate that the initial assessment suggests it's not a serious injury and he may only need to wear a brace to continue playing.

While this news provides some relief for Steelers fans, losing their star quarterback will still pose significant challenges for the team. The Steelers have a crucial upcoming schedule against the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North, where every point counts given their narrow lead.

Despite Rudolph's respectable performance of 127 yards and one touchdown in relief, his ability to replicate Rodgers' level of play remains uncertain. It will be crucial for Pittsburgh to assess its depth at quarterback if Rodgers is indeed sidelined for an extended period.

More tests are scheduled for Monday to provide a clearer picture of Rodgers' condition, but preliminary reports suggest that the injury might not be as severe as initially thought.

🤕 this is terrible news for steelers fans who were probably expecting a deep playoff run with rodgers at helm... i mean, who else are they gonna rely on? mason rudolph seems decent but can he lead his team to victories against these tough opponents like chicago bears and buffalo bills? the injury doesn't seem too serious though, so fingers crossed that rodgers recovers quickly and gets back in the game... teams need their star QBs for those big games where every yard counts

omg what a bummer for steeler fans 🤕 Aaron rogers is like their go-to guy and now he's out for the rest of the game. its gonna be tough on them especially with those crucial games against chicago, buffalo and baltimore. i mean mason rudolph did okay in relief but can he keep up with rodgers' level? thats a big question mark 🤔

i heard the injury might not be super serious tho so fingers crossed it'll only take some time off from playing to wear a brace or something. still gotta worry about the depth at quarterback tho, that's a big concern for any team. hoping they can assess their options soon and get back on track 👍

I'm worried about Aaron Rodgers, tbh 😬 he's been his team's leader for so long and now they'll have to adjust without him 🤯. Mason Rudolph stepped up in a big way, but I think it's going to take some time for the Steelers to figure out how to replace Rodgers' magic ✨. The schedule is getting tougher by the week and every point counts 💪. Hopefully, the tests on Monday will show that the injury isn't as bad as everyone thought 🤞.

I'm still trying to understand why teams aren't investing more in player safety protocols 🤔. I mean, we all know how much Rodgers is worth to this team and the NFL as a whole. He's one of the best QBs out there! It's like, what's the point of having a star player if you're not gonna protect him? 😒

And now they're trying to assess their depth at QB with Mason Rudolph stepping in. I'm all for giving guys opportunities, but this is like playing musical chairs... except it's a bunch of people who are under pressure and don't know what's going on 💥.

It's also interesting that the team didn't have more clarity on Rodgers' condition before the game 🙄. I mean, isn't that what the medical staff is for? To give us answers, not to keep us in suspense all day! 🕰️

😬 Oh man this is bad news for Steelers fans! Rodgers is like their franchise QB and without him they're gonna struggle 🤕 I'm kinda glad it's not super serious tho, a wrist brace sounds way better than surgery 🤞 But still gotta be worried about the impact on their season, those games against Chicago, Buffalo and Baltimore are huge 💪 And yeah, Rudolph did okay in relief but can he carry the team? That's what they'll need to figure out 💡 Hope Rodgers recovers soon and gets back to his old self 🤞

Aww man 😩🏈, this is super bad news for Steeler Nation! Aaron Rodgers was like our QB soulmate 🤠❤️ and I'm literally freaking out thinking about him getting hurt. That fracture in his wrist still has me worried though... like, what if it's worse than people think? 💔

But like, on the bright side, Mason Rudolph did okay in relief mode 😐, so maybe he can step up for us? Still, we need our Rodgers back ASAP ⏱️ or else our chances of winning those crucial AFC North games will slip away. Fingers crossed it's just a minor setback and he'll be back on the field soon 🤞

I'm not surprised Aaron Rodgers got hurt 🤕... like, it's always something with him, you know? But seriously, this is a huge blow to the Steelers. They were riding high on Rodgers' hot streak and now they gotta figure out who's gonna fill his shoes. Mason Rudolph might have stepped up today, but can he do it consistently? 🤔 I mean, 127 yards and one TD is nice, but that's not exactly what you want from a backup QB, especially when the stakes are high like in the AFC North. The Steelers need to assess their depth at QB ASAP if Rodgers is out for an extended period... fingers crossed he just needs to wear a brace and come back swinging 🤞

man this is bad news for the steelers... Rodgers is like their leader on the field 🤕 and with him out they gotta figure out how to win those games without him. Mason Rudolph stepped up and did okay, but it's not gonna be the same, you know? he's no Rodgers, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens next. fingers crossed that the break is minor and he can get back on the field ASAP 🤞

Ugh, great, just what I needed, another reason to hate watching sports when all my favorite players are getting hurt 😒🏈. Poor Aaron Rodgers, gotta feel bad for him, but at least it's not a career-ending injury... hopefully 🤞. Mason Rudolph, huh? Yeah, because that guy was always the next big thing, right? 🙄. I mean, 127 yards and one touchdown isn't terrible or anything, but still, can't we just have our guys playing without worrying about injuries all the time? 🤦‍♂️. Anyway, fingers crossed it's not as bad as they think... Steelers fans must be having a blast with this news 😅.

Ugh, finally! A big star QB gets hurt and it's about time something like this happens! I mean, can you imagine how overhyped Rodgers was getting? Always talking trash on his teammates and never taking a hit himself. And now he's got a wrist injury, maybe he'll learn to take care of himself for once.

And yeah, it's good that the medical team isn't making a mountain out of this thing. It's not like Rodgers is going to miss the whole season or anything (fingers crossed). The Steelers are gonna be just fine without him. Mason Rudolph? Please, he's not half as good as Rodgers, but at least he's a team player and won't get all the glory.

Let's be real, the Steelers were never really going to win it all with Rodgers anyway. They needed someone to step up and show some backbone, and now that they've got an excuse to do just that!

aww man 🤕 think about all them steeler fans watching their team struggle without arold 😞 Rodgers is one lucky dude! small fracture, just wear a brace? 🙏 gotta feel for him, but at least it's not super serious injury 💪. still worried about those other games tho... Mason Rudolph did okay in relief, but can he hold his own with top teams like bears and ravens? 🤔 fingers crossed arold is back ASAP, that team needs him 🤞

Ugh, Rodgers was having such a great season too 🤦‍♂️... I mean, you gotta feel bad for him, got smashed by defenders and now he's gonna miss the rest of the game... But on the bright side, it's not like it's his first concussion or anything (remember that one in 2020? 😅). So fingers crossed he'll just need a wrist brace and be good to go. The Steelers are gonna miss him tho, especially with those tough games coming up against Chicago, Buffalo, and Baltimore... Mason Rudolph is no Rodgers, we all know that 💔. But hey, at least it's not broken anything worse, like his arm or leg... now THAT would've been a disaster 😱

omg did u see the game last nite? i was so shocked when rodgers went down i feel bad 4 him 🤕 anyway, i guess its good he doesn't have a serious injury hopefully he'll b back on the field soon 🤞 but what's up w/ mason rudolph tho? i don't think he can fill rodgers' shoes lol i mean he had some good stats but is it really enough 2 carry the team 2 a win?? also, have u heard anything about how the steelers are gonna make up for lost time in the afc north? those games r gonna be intense! 🏈

omg what a bummer 4 the steelers fans! aaron rodgers is like their everything right now they need him to win those upcoming games esp against the bears & ravens 🤕 meanwhile mason rudolph's gotta step up his game & prove he can lead them 2 victory 💪 but u know how it is with injuries... hopefully rodgers can get back on the field soon & not have to wear a brace 🤞

Aww man! 😩 This is so not what the Steelers needed right now. With Aaron Rodgers out, they're gonna have to rely on Mason Rudolph and hope he can fill in those big shoes. I mean, 127 yards and a touchdown is respectable, but can he keep up with those other teams in the AFC North? 🤔 The Bears, Bills, and Ravens are all tough opponents and every point counts right now. Hopefully, Rodgers' wrist injury isn't as bad as it seems and he's back on the field soon. A brace might be the answer though - that could be a good way to keep him playing without risking further damage 🤞.

Ugh 🤦‍♂️, can't even browse the forum without something breaking... 😒 I just read about Aaron Rodgers getting hurt and now my mind is all over the gridiron 😅, but let's get back to the platform, right? 🙄

Anyway, what's with the blue medical tent thing? It looks so outdated 👀. Can't we just have a more modern, streamlined way of handling medical situations on this site? And what's up with not having a dedicated thread for sports news? I swear, it's like they're trying to make us search for information all over the place 🔍.

I mean, I'm glad Rodgers isn't seriously hurt, but come on, can we get some real-time updates or something? 😩 It's hard to keep up with the game when all we have is snippets of info here and there. And don't even get me started on Mason Rudolph taking over... 🤔 what a mess! 💥
