St. Paul City Council pushes back vote for review of police use of force during ICE operation

The whole situation with St Paul's ICE op is so messed up... I'm not surprised that the city council delayed the vote, to be honest. They gotta get it right, you know? Can't just rush into something like this without making sure everyone's on board.

I mean, community leaders saying that the cops presence was excessive and unnecessary? That's a valid point . The police department's all like "we were acting within our authority" but I'm not buying it . You can't just use chemical irritants and projectiles on people without serious consequences.

I'm glad the Police Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission is pushing for an independent investigation, though . That's what we need - transparency and accountability. The city council should be all about listening to the community and making sure that everyone feels heard.

Next week's vote can't come soon enough . Let's hope they get it right this time around .

man this is getting crazy the st paul city council is basically saying that they can't even make a decision about how their own cops acted in a real life situation like that... i get it, they wanna do it right but 7 days is like an eternity for this community to be waiting for answers especially when the whole thing started because of something as simple as enforcing ice policies it's all about trust and accountability here, and so far neither side seems willing to budge. i just hope next week's meeting brings some real progress on this... not just more delay
