Spain to ban social media for under-16s, prime minister says – Europe live

This is a classic case of "do what the people want" vs "accountability through the law". On one hand, I get it, Pedro Sanchez has been a popular PM and stepping down shows he's willing to take responsibility for his actions. It's like when you're the CEO of a company and you mess up, so you step down, your employees (the public) appreciate that.

But on the other hand, this is also about politics 101 - if you're in trouble, don't just step down, do what it takes to get out of the hot water first! Sanchez has to face trial for corruption? That's some serious stuff. It raises questions about how he got into power in the first place and if there was some... let's call it "creative campaign finance" involved.

It's also interesting to see how this plays out for his party, Podemos. Will they still be able to maintain their popularity without Sanchez at the helm? This is a tough one to predict. One thing for sure, Spanish politics just got a whole lot more juicy 😏

😱 I just can't believe it 😕. One minute he's leading the country, and the next he's facing corruption charges 💸. It's all so shocking! 🤯 As a parent, you want your kids to learn from good examples, right? 👶️ It's hard for them to understand why someone they look up to gets into trouble like this 😔.

I mean, what about his family? Do they know what's going on? How are the kids handling this situation? 🤷‍♀️ My younger siblings would be totally clueless 😂. I just hope he takes responsibility for his actions and doesn't let it affect anyone else 💪.

It's also weird to think that politics can be so cutthroat 📊. You'd think that with all the scandals, someone would take a step back and say "wait, is this really what we want?" 🤔 But I guess that's not always how things work out 😐. As a parent, it's hard not to worry about the impact on our kids' perception of power and authority 👊.

I'm shocked! 🤯 I mean, who would've thought that the leader of Spain would be facing all this drama? 😱 It's like something out of a TV show or movie. I guess you never really know what's going on behind closed doors, right?

To be honest, I don't think it's fair that he's being held accountable for his actions. Politicians are human beings too, after all! 🤝 But at the same time, if he's done something wrong, then he should face the consequences.

I'm curious to see how this whole situation plays out. Will he be able to clear his name? Will there be a new leader in place by June 1st? So much uncertainty and it's making me a bit anxious 😬. One thing for sure is that it's going to be a wild ride, that's for sure! 🎢

Man, this is some heavy stuff 🤯. You think being in power, with all the perks and responsibilities, can't weigh you down? It sounds like Pedro Sanchez is finally facing the music. But here's the thing: stepping down from power doesn't necessarily mean he's "clean" or innocent. It just means he's taking a chance to clear his name and show accountability.

We've all been there, right? We make mistakes, we slip up, and we gotta face the consequences. That's what happens when you're in a position of authority - everyone's watching, waiting for you to slip up so they can pounce. But maybe this is an opportunity for Sanchez to learn from his mistakes and come back stronger.

It's all about perspective, I guess. We see it as a fall from power, but could it be seen as a chance to rise above? To show that we're not just in it for ourselves, but for the greater good? The real question is: what will Sanchez do next?

🤔 "The sooner we get rid of the old, the better." Can't say I'm surprised though... Corruption scandals have been rocking Spain for ages 🤕. This is what happens when politics gets too close to home, and personal interests take over 💸. The fact that Pedro Sanchez has to face a trial for his actions is actually quite refreshing, in a way - it's about time someone held accountable for abuse of power 🚫.

But let's not forget, this is just the tip of the iceberg 🌊. The real challenge will be figuring out who takes over next and what their vision is for Spain's future 🤝. Can't wait to see how this all plays out... Will there be more corruption scandals or a fresh start? 🤞 Only time will tell, I guess 😬

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." 👊 It's like the saying goes, once you hold the top spot, it's hard to let go, even if it means stepping down from your own position of power 🤯. I think Pedro Sanchez is doing the right thing by taking responsibility for his actions, but it's also sad to see him go - he was only 44 years old and had been in office since 2018 💔. Corruption is a serious issue, but sometimes it takes a high-ranking official like Sanchez being held accountable to bring attention to it 🚨. I wonder who'll be next in line to lead Spain now... will they face the same challenges as Sanchez? Only time will tell ⏰.
