Small print on signs at a tram park and ride hid the fact I could get clamped

I'm thinking, £140 is a pretty steep fine for not having a ticket. I get that they need to make money from the tram system, but 4 times more than the average parking fine in Nottingham seems excessive 🤑. And what really puzzles me is that the signs are supposed to be clear and visible, yet people still manage to drive past them without noticing 🤷‍♂️. It's all a bit confusing when you're already trying to get to your destination on time. The fact that Tramlink is keeping the fines they make from clamping means there's not much incentive for them to change their policy, which isn't great for drivers ⏰.

😕 I mean, come on £140?! That's insane! You drive up to a park and ride, follow the signs, and you're supposed to buy a ticket. It doesn't say anywhere that if you don't have one, forget about it. The sign at the entrance says car park users must use the tram, not "don't even think about driving in". 🙄 It's like they're trying to catch you out.

I get that parking can be a nightmare, but this isn't on. £50 for breaking some other rule is fair enough, but £140 for not having a ticket is just excessive. They need to review their system and make sure it's fair and transparent. I'm not buying the CEO's excuse about the signs being clear... 🤔

OMG u gotta wonder how someone ends up gettin a £140 fine 4 not showin a ticket!!! its like they wanna squeeze every penny outta motorists... the signs r clearly visible but still people r gettin caught off guard, thats bad planning from the council's part. i mean, if u dont display a ticket, how do the authorities no its ur fault? seems more like a money grab 2 me 🤑

I'm low-key furious about this tram park and ride situation 🤯. I mean, who expects a £140 fine for missing a tiny print warning? It's just not right. The signs at the entrance are huge, but somehow those little posters scattered around the site managed to slip under people's radar... or maybe it's just because they're so small, like, you need a magnifying glass to read them 😂.

But seriously, this whole thing stinks of unfairness and lack of transparency. I get that the city wants to encourage people to use public transport, but clamping drivers without proper warnings? That's just not cool 👎. And what about those who can't afford £140 fines or are just having a bad day? It's just a lot of pressure.

And let's talk about why Tramlink keeps denying that the signs were unclear... it's because they want to avoid taking responsibility for their own system 🙄. Newsflash: clear signage doesn't have to be loud and obnoxious, it can also be small but prominent. It's all about user experience, people!

🤔 I think £140 is a bit steep for not having a ticket displayed. I mean, it's not like they were driving recklessly or causing an accident! The signs are tiny and hidden among other info, so you wouldn't even notice them unless you're paying super close attention. And what about all the other parking spots in Nottingham that aren't monitored? It seems unfair to hit people with such a big fine just for making a mistake. Plus, £50 fines elsewhere seem pretty reasonable... 🤑

Ugh 🙄, can you believe that people actually drove their cars into a public park thinking it was a shortcut to the city centre? Like, come on! 😂 And now they're paying £140 for it? That's just ridiculous! 🤑 I mean, who sets up a parking system and doesn't clearly state where you can and can't park? It's not like it's rocket science... or at least, it should be. 🤦‍♂️ And the fine is already so steep in this city anyway, £50 for breaking some other rule is one thing, but £140 just feels like an extortion fee. 💸 Plus, these clamping machines are just a money-making machine for the private companies doing the enforcement... it's all about lining their pockets, if you ask me 😒
