SEPTA to start using 10 leased cars next week to boost Regional Rail service

SEPTA Boosts Regional Rail Service with New Schedules and Leased Cars

Starting next week, SEPTA will introduce a new schedule for its Regional Rail service, bringing more frequent trains during morning and evening rush hours. The changes are aimed at alleviating crowded conditions on the system's aging fleet.

The updates include the inclusion of 10 leased cars from Maryland's MARC public transit system, which arrived last month to provide additional capacity. These new arrivals will support federally mandated inspections currently underway for SEPTA's Silverliner IV fleet, which have raised safety concerns due to multiple electrical fires in the past.

While these new cars are being introduced to ease congestion during rush hours, more significant service enhancements are expected once the inspections are completed. At nearly 90% done with repairs, SEPTA is working to fully replace its aging fleet, a process estimated to take up to a decade.

As part of this effort, SEPTA has been leasing additional train cars from MARC and Montreal's Exo system. The updated schedule will also see changes to bus routes, with three lines experiencing adjustments in morning trip times to maintain connections with Regional Rail trains.

Key updates to the schedules include entirely new timetables for the Wilmington/Newark, Trenton, and Chestnut Hill East lines, as well as increased train frequencies from Wayne Junction to Philadelphia International Airport. The Wilmington/Newark line will feature express patterns and added trains on weekday mornings, while most Trenton line trains will now originate and terminate at Temple University's stop.

The West Trenton and Trenton Regional Rail lines will see the introduction of the 10 MARC cars, providing a boost during rush hours. However, more substantial service enhancements are expected once the Silverliner IV fleet repairs are completed.

omg i cant wait for these new schedules!!! πŸš‚πŸ‘ finally some relief from crowded trains! and yay for those new leased cars from MARC 🀩 they're gonna make such a difference during rush hours. and btw, did u know that septa's been working on replacing their aging fleet for like a decade now? πŸ’Ό it's so cool to see them invest in the future of their service. and lets be real, who doesn't love express patterns on the wilmington/newark line πŸš¨πŸ‘€

I'm not sure I buy into all this new train schedule hype πŸš‚πŸ˜’. Just because they're adding more trains doesn't mean the infrastructure is going to magically fix itself. Those Silverliner IV cars have been causing problems for years, and now we're just throwing band-aids at the situation? And what's with all these leased cars from other places? It feels like SEPTA is just patching things up until they can get a new fleet together... which will take who knows how long πŸ•°οΈ. And don't even get me started on the bus route changes – it's just going to be more confusing for commuters 🚌😩. I'll believe it when I see some real investment in upgrading the whole system, not just slapping a new schedule together πŸ€”

Ugh, great, just what we need, more delays in Philly πŸš‚πŸ˜’. They're introducing new schedules and leasing in some new trains, but let's be real, they'll probably still be broke for maintenance soon enough πŸ€‘. And with all these changes, I'm sure there'll be a bunch of complaints from commuters about how the new system is even worse than the old one πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Plus, it's like they're trying to distract us from the fact that their trains are basically held together with duct tape and prayers πŸ’”. And what's up with all these leased cars? Are they really gonna make a difference or just another way for them to pinch pennies? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

omg i'm so hyped for these new schedule changes!! finally some relief from those packed trains πŸš‚πŸ˜© it's about time septa gets its act together. i mean who wants to be stuck in traffic on the train during rush hour, right? and yay for more frequent trains! that's gonna make a huge difference for people trying to get to work or school on time. plus having some new cars from marc is a nice touch πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

can't believe they're making us wait for another decade to get some new trains lol πŸ™„... i mean, i get it, safety comes first and all that but still, 10 yrs is a looong time to be stuck on an old train πŸš‚πŸ˜©. at least they're trying tho, bringing in those leased cars from marc and exo... that's something 😊. but seriously, when are we gonna get some modern trains for real? πŸ’Έ

omg i had no idea septa was doing all this work 🀯 i remember when my friends and i used to have to plan our days around the train schedule it's crazy how much they're trying to improve things πŸš‚πŸ‘ those new cars from marc are gonna be a game changer for commuters during rush hour tho can't wait to see the updated timetables roll out next week πŸ’» any idea if there'll be online tools to plan routes and track train schedules? that'd be super helpful πŸ‘€

I'm so stoked about SEPTA's new schedules for their Regional Rail service! πŸš‚ They're introducing more frequent trains during rush hours which is gonna be a total game changer for commuters. I know how frustrating it can be to deal with crowded conditions on the train, and these changes are definitely gonna make a big difference.

It's also really cool that they're getting new leased cars from MARC in Maryland. Those extra seats are gonna be a lifesaver during peak hours! And the fact that SEPTA is working hard to replace their aging fleet is awesome. I mean, it's crazy how long it takes for public transit systems to get updated, but at least we know they're on it.

One thing I'm hoping for is some more significant service enhancements once the Silverliner IV fleet repairs are done. Those electrical fires were super scary and I'm glad SEPTA is taking steps to fix them. But overall, these new schedules and leased cars are a great start! πŸš…

OMG you guys SEPTA is finally doing something about those crowded trains πŸš‚πŸ˜© I'm so done with fighting for a seat on the train and having to hold my kid's hand while we're squished together like sardines 🀣. The new schedule has me super stoked, especially with more frequent trains during rush hours - it'll be a lifesaver for working parents like myself! And I love that they're introducing those new leased cars from MARC - can't wait to see them rolling in and making our commute way smoother πŸ’¨. But omg, I hope it's not another decade before we get some actual upgrades on the Silverliner IV fleet πŸ™„. Fingers crossed SEPTA gets their act together soon! πŸ˜…

πŸš‚πŸ‘ so they're finally gonna make some changes on the SEPTA rail thingy! been complaining about how crowded it is for ages... hope these new leased cars from MARC and Exo help ease the congestion, but still gotta say 10 trains might not be enough considering how many people use that service. also, a bit suspicious about why they're introducing express patterns on the Wilmington/Newark line now... maybe they got some inside info that we don't have πŸ€‘

Just got the scoop on SEPTA's new train schedules πŸš‚πŸ’¨ and I gotta say, it's about time! More frequent trains during rush hours will definitely help reduce those crazy crowded conditions 😩. The addition of 10 leased cars from MARC is a great start, but I'm excited to see what other changes come with the new Silverliner IV fleet repairs 🀞. Increased train frequencies from Wayne Junction to Philly Airport? Yes, please! ✈️ Those adjustments to bus routes might need some getting used to, but it's all about maintaining those connections with Regional Rail trains 🚌. SEPTA's been working hard on upgrading their fleet and I'm curious to see the progress over the next decade πŸ’ͺ. Let's hope these changes make a real difference for commuters like me! 😊

πŸš‚πŸ’¨ I'm pretty sure SEPTA is only doing this because they have to, not because they actually care about people's commutes πŸ™„. Like, what took them so long to fix their aging fleet? And now they're just leasing in some new cars from other places... sounds like a Band-Aid solution to me πŸ˜’. I mean, I get it, safety concerns and all that, but can't they just replace the whole thing already?! It's going to take up to 10 years, which is basically forever πŸ•°οΈ. And what about the people who are stuck on those trains during rush hours? They're still gonna have to deal with crowds, right? Maybe SEPTA should just look at how some other cities do it, you know? Prioritize public transportation over profits πŸ€‘.

omg I'm so done with SEPTA's aging fleet 🚫😩 like how can a system that big still have trains that old??!! anyway idk if its better for them to get new cars from MARC or just rebuild the whole thing already? idc, more frequent trains during rush hours is def a good start tho 🀞 and those changes to bus routes sounds helpful too ⏱️ guess we'll just have to wait & see how this all plays out πŸ‘€

I'm not really sure what's going on with SEPTA's rail service πŸ˜•... they're adding new trains and schedules, but I just got back from vacation and my train ride was still super crowded πŸš‚πŸ˜“... do they have more trains now? Like, how many? Is it more than the old ones? πŸ€” Also, what's up with all these electrical fires on their Silverliner IV fleet? Are people okay? 😬

omg i was so annoyed on the treno yesterday because it was literally packed lol but now with these new schedules and additional trains idc how long it takes to replace those old silverliners as long as we get more frequent trains i'll be happy πŸ˜ŠπŸš‚ anyway, has anyone thought about the potential benefits of having more frequent trains during peak hours? like maybe some commuters would consider leaving the car behind πŸš— instead of parking at the station and dealing with traffic later

so great, another bunch of new schedules to navigate πŸ™„... i mean, who needs simplicity when you can have more complexity, right? anyway, 10 leased cars from MARC is a nice touch, but let's be real, they're not gonna fix the underlying issues with the fleet. like, what's the plan for all these aging trains that are still causing safety concerns? just gonna leave 'em in storage and hope nobody notices πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ... or maybe they'll magically fix themselves while we're all sleeping πŸ˜‚

I'm kinda stoked about these changes! I mean, who doesn't love having more trains on the Regional Rail? It's going to be a big help during those crazy morning and evening rush hours πŸšŒπŸ’¨. And let's be real, having new cars from MARC is like a breath of fresh air - it's about time SEPTA upgraded its fleet! The thing that gets me most excited is that they're not just stopping at leasing more trains, but they're actually planning to fully replace the Silverliner IV fleet in a decade πŸŽ‰. That's some serious dedication to customer satisfaction!

πŸš‚πŸ’¨ omg, i'm so stoked to hear that septa is introducing new schedules and leased cars for their regional rail service! like, we all know how crazy crowded those trains can get during rush hour 🀯. these new arrivals from marc and exo are going to make such a huge difference in reducing congestion and making the commute more bearable 😌.

and yay for the express patterns on the wilmington/newark line! who doesn't love a good express train, am i right? πŸš‚πŸ’¨ but seriously, it's great to see septa prioritizing safety with these repairs and inspections. like, we want our trains to be reliable and safe for everyone on board πŸ’―.

i'm also loving the idea of more frequent trains from wayne junction to philly airport! that's going to make travel so much easier for people πŸšͺ. and i guess it's not all bad news – at least they're working hard to replace those aging fleets, even if it'll take a decade ⏰.

omg I just saw that SEPTA is introducing new schedules for their regional rail service next week πŸš‚πŸ’¨ and it's gonna be a game changer! they're adding 10 new leased cars from Maryland's MARC system which is awesome, but also kinda sad that our silverliner iv fleet needs repairs lol. anyway, i'm super excited to see more frequent trains during rush hours, it'll make commuting way more bearable πŸ™Œ. and btw, has anyone noticed how old the current fleet looks? like, we need some new trains ASAP! πŸ˜‚

Ugh πŸš¨πŸ’” just read that SEPTA is still dealing with electrical fires on their trains and now they're leasing in new cars from another state lol what's up with that? They're gonna have 10 new cars but it's gonna take them up to a decade to fix the rest of the fleet so yeah great news, more crowds πŸš‚πŸ‘€
