Second felony charge filed against former Lupe Tortilla employee, police say

A former employee of Lupe Tortilla restaurant in Texas is facing additional felony charges for placing cameras in a restroom at the establishment, where he was employed as a dishwasher. Bayson Elias Pu, 31, who is also a Guatemalan national, had been working in Houston for around two years.

Newly filed court documents reveal that another felony count of fraudulent use of identifying information has been added to his case after police discovered that Pu had used the Social Security number of a 66-year-old man from Las Vegas without his consent. The victim confirmed to investigators that the SSN belonged to him and that he never gave it to Pu.

In response to the allegations, Lupe Tortilla restaurant stated that they are cooperating with law enforcement and have commended the employees who reported the incident to authorities. Pu initially faced charges of invasive visual recording for allegedly installing cameras in the restroom but has since been rearrested and is currently being held in custody pending further proceedings.

The developments in the case have raised concerns about employee conduct at Lupe Tortilla, with many questioning how such serious allegations could have gone undetected until they were reported to authorities. The restaurant's handling of the situation remains under scrutiny as investigators continue to probe the matter.

I'm so freaked out by this news 🤯... I mean, who installs cameras in a restroom?! It's just insane! And now he's facing even more charges? Unbelievable. I've had my own experiences with weird customers at work (like when some dude asked me if he could use the bathroom for his dog 🐶), but this is on a whole other level. I'm all about DIY solutions, not invasive recording tech 📹... it's just not right. And what really gets me is that someone else had to get hurt because of his actions - using someone else's SSN without consent? That's like taking someone's identity (not cool at all). Lupe Tortilla should totally do a better background check on their employees! 👀

I'm low-key shocked that it took a customer complaining to get someone like this caught in the first place lol 🤯 I mean, what was he even thinking? Not just installing cameras in the restroom, but also using someone else's SSN?! That's some serious red flag stuff right there. And honestly, it makes me wonder how many other employees might be doing shady stuff behind the scenes 🤑 Like, did anyone else at Lupe Tortilla notice this guy acting weird or something? The restaurant needs to do a better job of vetting their employees and keeping customers safe 🙏

People can be incredibly paranoid, and sometimes that paranoia can get out of control 🤯. I mean, think about it: "The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me." - Ayn Rand.

I'm really worried about this guy Bayson Elias Pu, it's crazy that he installed cameras in a restroom at work and even used someone else's Social Security number. I don't get how he thought this was okay, it's like totally creepy and invasive. The fact that Lupe Tortilla restaurant is cooperating with the police is good, but what about all the other people who might be affected by this? Like, did they not notice anything suspicious when he was working there? It just makes me think we need to be more careful about our online security and personal info. 🤯👮‍♂️

Ugh, I'm getting the creeps just thinking about that dude, Bayson Elias Pu 🤯. Installing cameras in a restroom? Like, what's next? A peep show at El Pollo Loco 😂. And using someone else's Social Security number without their consent? That's just low, bro 👎. I mean, I've heard of people getting caught up in some shady stuff before, but this is on another level. It makes me think about all the times I went to Lupe Tortilla with my crew back in the day 🕰️... good times, man... those were the days when you could just trust your fellow employees 👫. Anyway, gotta say, it's gonna be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out 😬.

I cant believe what happened at Lupe Tortilla in Houston 🤯... like how someone working there could get away with putting cameras in the restroom for so long? It's just not right and it makes me wonder if they had some kinda security or management issues going on. I'm glad the employees who reported this did, though - they deserve a shoutout for looking out for each other and doing the right thing 🙌... now I just hope these cameras aren't still up somewhere...

Lupe tortilla restaurant is tryin 2 stay out of it but ppl r questioning how they didn't catch on sooner. i feel bad 4 the dude who had his info stolen tho 🤦‍♂️🚫
