San Jose advocates help unhoused as freezing temperatures arrive

It's heartbreakingly sad that people are still struggling on the streets like Derek Smith has been for nearly a decade 🤕😔. I mean, the Unhoused Response Group and GRACE are doing their best with some amazing volunteers like Robert Gilman and Shaunn Cartwright 👏, but it's just not enough considering San Jose's huge size 🤦‍♂️. Bea Ramos' commitment to sheltering all is a good start, though, but we need more warming centers ASAP ⏰! And can't the city do more to help? Charles Harris is right about checking in on vulnerable family members and donating cold-weather gear, so let's all chip in 🎁👍.
 
man... it's crazy how some ppl think that 2 warming centers r enough for a city like San Jose 🤯 I mean, i get it, resources are limited but it feels like they're just papering over the issue instead of addressing the root problem. what's up with the county committing to providing shelter for all yet not having more warmth centers? shouldn't ppl in homeless shelters be able to stay warm too? 🥶 and yeah, the fact that some ppl r already overwhelmed & can't get in is just heartbreaking 💔
 
🤔 I'm all for showing some love to our homeless brothers & sisters during this harsh winter season... but let's get real, 2 warming centers in a city of over 1 million people? That just doesn't cut it, you know? 🚨 It's like, we're trying to help, but at the same time, we gotta think about scalability. How are they gonna reach all those folks on the streets when they can barely keep up with the demand in these two centers? 🤝 We need more than just a Band-Aid solution here... we need a comprehensive plan to tackle homelessness once and for all 💪
 
I'm gettin' so tired of people just talkin bout homeless stuff but don't actually do anythin about it 🤯 Like, San Jose has a huge population and we still got like 2 warming centers? That's crazy 😱 I mean, i know it's not an easy problem to solve but c'mon, can't we do better than that? 💪 It's all good talk till someone actually rolls up their sleeves and starts helpin out. Also, gotta give props to ppl like Robert Gilman and Shaunn Cartwright who are makin moves on the ground 🙌
 
OMG, this is literally so heartwarming 🤗! I mean, can you imagine being out on the streets during freezing temps? It's crazy to think about all the people struggling and then these amazing advocates show up with cold-weather gear and just...save the day 💪. And I love how everyone is coming together - the Unhoused Response Group, HomeFirst, even the community members who are donating or buying stuff for those in need. It's like, we can all make a difference, you know? 🙌 Shaunn Cartwright might be frustrated about the lack of warming centers, but let's be real, it's progress, right? And Robert Gilman is literally the ultimate angel - I wish more people were as selfless and compassionate as him. Anyway, kudos to everyone involved in this awesome initiative! 👏
