Dino-mite! Who knew a retro newsstand could become a pre-hysterical bodega ? I mean, Steg Yun dancing on a poster... what's next? A T-Rex selling Times Square t-shirts? "Cellino & Barney" must be the new Brooklyn Lagers . The artists did an amazing job turning a space into a dino-disaster... er, masterpiece! Can't wait to see it until April .
I'm actually loving this idea of a dinosaur-themed bodega in the subway station . It's like they're taking something so iconic and ordinary (like a newsstand) and turning it into something entirely absurd and fun. The attention to detail is amazing, from Steg Yun to Cellino & Barney - it feels like you could easily get lost in this world of NYC nostalgia . I think what I love most about it is how it just kinda... exists? Like, it's not trying to be a "real" bodega or anything, but just a fun little installation that happens to be in the subway station. It's like New York City is always up for a good joke .
I'm loving the creativity of Rex's Dino Store, but honestly, have you tried to get a decent selfie in front of this thing? The lighting is all wrong and the background is super distracting. And don't even get me started on how crowded it's gonna be with tourists now that it's out... I mean, I guess it's cool for a quick Instagram post, but can we just enjoy it in peace? Also, who thought it was a good idea to put Steg Yun on a poster?!
OMG, can you believe a newsstand has turned into a dino-mite bodega?! I mean, who needs regular old snacks when you can get some Steg-y goodness? I'm totally stoked they repurposed an old newsstand and ran with the idea. It's like they say, "if it ain't broke, break it... into a dinosaur-themed bodega!" The attention to detail is pretty cool too, from Steg Yun to Cellino & Barney - it's like they're pulling your leg!
