Review: mgk runs through his many musical personas in wide-ranging show, brings out surprise guest Halsey

Machine Gun Kelly's wide-ranging show at Allstate Arena was a dizzying display of his many musical personas, making it difficult to pinpoint what kind of artist he is in 2025. As part of his Lost Americana Tour, the musician ran through a hodgepodge of material, including his new moody "vampire phase" album "Lost Americana", his pop-punk debut "Tickets to My Downfall", and hip-hop past tracks like "Maybe"/"Wild Boy"/"El Diablo".

The concert started with an extravagant entrance, as Kelly descended from a giant Statue of Liberty via her mouth, accompanied by a red and white electric guitar that spit out shooting sparks on "Papercuts". The show also featured video interludes poking fun at the criticism Kelly has faced in the past, including being labeled a faux influencer. However, he played it off with self-deprecation.

One of the standout moments came when Halsey joined Kelly on stage for a live version of their "Tickets to My Downfall" duet "Forget Me Not". Her presence added an emotional depth to the performance, and she stuck around for a song that originally featured Camila Cabello. In between these musical moments, Kelly sat down with his audience, welcoming them onto the stage as part of his "Bloody Valentine" and acknowledging handmade posters from fans.

Throughout the show, Kelly displayed impressive range, delivering lyrics from hip-hop tracks like new track "Who I Was", a collaboration recorded with rapper NF. He also teased a possible rap album coming next year, showcasing an artistically rewarding moment in his performance.

The setlist featured a mix of old and new material, including tracks from his pop-punk debut "Tickets to My Downfall" and his latest foray into pop territory on "ClichΓ©", as well as country hanger-on song "Lonely Road". A cover of Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" was performed with opening act Julia Wolf, adding gravitas to the heartfelt serenade.

OMG, I'm still reeling from Machine Gun Kelly's concert 🀯! Like, the dude has so many different personas and it's hard to keep up πŸ˜‚. But you know what? I kinda love how he just owns it all and doesn't apologize for being a genre-bender. The crowd was totally vibing with him and it felt like this massive party πŸ’ƒπŸ½! And that moment when Halsey joined him on stage? Iconic πŸ”₯! I'm not surprised he's getting so much attention, his music is just infectious. Can't wait to see what he does next, especially that rumored rap album πŸ€”...

man i think what made this show so lit was how machine gun kelly just owned his many personas lol he literally played all these different styles back to back and still managed to keep it cohesive? like, how's one person supposed to do that?! 🀯 anyway, the part with halsey joining him on stage for "forget me not" gave me chills, their vocals just blended so well together. also, i love that he engaged with the audience, bringing them onto the stage and acknowledging those handmade posters. it's clear he's still passionate about connecting with his fans πŸŽ‰

I'm not sure if Machine Gun Kelly's performance was that impressive... I mean, it sounds like he was trying out different personas on stage and it got kinda confusing πŸ€”. One minute he's rockin' this edgy vibe, next he's pop-punk, then hip-hop... what even is his style anymore? And don't get me wrong, Halsey's appearance was awesome and the "Forget Me Not" duet was fire πŸ”₯, but was that just a one-off or are we seeing more of this pop-punk stuff from MGK in 2025? I'm still on the fence about his new album... is it gonna be all over the place like this show? 🎸

man this guy's energy is wild! 🀯 he's like a chameleon on stage, switching between these different personas and it's actually really refreshing to see an artist be so experimental and raw. I loved how he poked fun at himself and the haters in front of his fans - it added such a layer of vulnerability to the performance. and when halsey joined him for that duet... *swoon* 🀩 their chemistry on stage was undeniable. it's clear he's pushing boundaries and having fun with it, and I am HERE FOR IT πŸŽ‰

OMG, I had such a blast watching Machine Gun Kelly's show 🀩! He's like, totally underrated in my opinion, you know? The way he blended different styles and genres was so sick πŸ’₯. And can we talk about how humble he is? He pokes fun at himself and his past criticism, it's so refreshing 😊. But what really got me was when Halsey joined him on stage for that epic duet 🎢! The crowd went wild and it felt like they were all vibing together πŸ’–. I'm not even a huge fan of pop-punk, but MGK made it work πŸ€“. He's def one of the most talented performers out there right now 🎸. And let's give it up for his fans too - those handmade posters were so sweet ❀️!

🀯 I loved how Machine Gun Kelly totally owned the stage and showed off his versatility as an artist 🎸! The whole show felt like a big ol' party, and he even invited some of our favorite artists to join in on the fun (hello Halsey! πŸ’–). But what really got me was when he connected with his fans by bringing up their handmade posters πŸ“ – it's clear he's all about building that bond with his community. And can we talk about how epic the setlist was? 🀯 I mean, who doesn't love a good mix of old and new tracks? It felt like he was saying, "Hey, I'm still growing as an artist, but these songs have been favorites for a reason!" πŸ’• The only thing that would've made it perfect is if there were some surprises, maybe a few more collaborations or deep cuts πŸ€”. Still, all in all, what a night to remember! πŸ˜†

I'm totally feeling Machine Gun Kelly's vibes last night!!! 🀘 The guy's got so much talent and energy on stage - it's like he's trying to prove to himself that he can do anything! πŸ’₯ I love how he pokes fun at his past controversies, too - it shows he's all about owning up to his mistakes and moving forward. And that "Forget Me Not" duet with Halsey? CHILLS 🀩 It was like they were meant to be on stage together. The way MGK interacted with the crowd, too... so cool! 😎 I'm not even kidding, I think this guy's got the potential to take over the music scene next year - and that new rap album he teased? FLY πŸš€ Can't wait for it!

.. Machine Gun Kelly's show at Allstate Arena? It was like he took a time machine back to the 90s and dropped all these different styles on us 🀯! At first, I thought I was watching a emo kid from Cleveland πŸ€ͺ, but then he breaks out into "Tickets to My Downfall" and suddenly it's pop-punk nostalgia for me 😎. And what's up with this whole "vampire phase" vibe? Not sure if I love or hate it... maybe it's just growth, you know? He showed a lot of range and even threw in some country vibes – loved the Goo Goo Dolls cover 🎸! But honestly, after a while, I felt like I was trying to figure out what kind of artist he is too πŸ€”. Still, he killed it (pun intended) πŸ’€ and had everyone on their feet... that's gotta count for something πŸ‘!

πŸ€• Machine Gun Kelly's show at Allstate Arena was a total mess πŸŽΈπŸ’€. I mean, the guy can't even decide on one style πŸ˜‚. He goes from moody vampire phase to pop-punk debut to hip-hop tracks... it's like he's trying to be every artist at once 🀯. And don't even get me started on the "Bloody Valentine" thing where he invites fans on stage... it was just a bunch of random people up there singing along πŸ˜…. The only good part was Halsey joining him for that one duet, but even that felt like an afterthought πŸ€”. And have you seen the setlist? It's like a hodgepodge of everything πŸ“. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of artist MGK is in 2025... probably someone who just likes to switch up his sound as much as he changes outfits πŸ‘•πŸŽΈ.

OMG I loved Machine Gun Kelly's concert at Allstate Arena - it was so wild 🀯! He really played around with his different personas and it was hard to know what kind of artist he is but in a good way πŸ˜‚. The show had this crazy mix of songs from all his different albums and even some collabs that were super emotional, like when Halsey joined him on stage for their "Tickets to My Downfall" duet 🎀. And I'm loving the fact that MGK is embracing himself and poking fun at the haters - it's so refreshing πŸ’–. The whole vibe was just really cool and I love how he interacted with his fans, especially when they brought up handmade posters πŸ“š. Next year can't come soon enough for a new rap album from him! 🀞

omg i saw this show live and it was WILD!!! machine gun kelly's energy is infectious he went from pop-punk to hip-hop and even country in one night lol. but seriously though, his range as an artist is insane. i loved how he incorporated all these different personas into the show. like, who else can go from a vampire phase album to a pop duet with halsey? πŸ€―πŸ˜‚ the way he played off his past criticism was also super relatable and funny. but what really stood out to me was when he just sat down on stage with the audience and welcomed them in. that was such a cool, intimate moment. anyway, i'm still reeling from the show... did anyone else get to see it? 🎸

🀯 I'm low-key obsessed with Machine Gun Kelly's new album 'Lost Americana'!!! 🎸 His live show was everything and more! The way he blended all these different styles like pop-punk, hip-hop, and even country was pure magic πŸ’« I loved how he didn't take himself too seriously, poking fun at the haters and just having a blast on stage πŸ˜‚ And that guest spot with Halsey? CHILLS πŸ™Œ 'Forget Me Not' is already one of my fave songs of 2025! πŸ‘
