Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she is resigning from Congress in January

In a surprise move, Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced her resignation from Congress, citing that she's "always been despised in Washington, D.C." and never quite fit in. This decision comes as she faces public fallout with former President Donald Trump over her criticisms of his stance on issues like Jeffrey Epstein files, foreign policy, and healthcare.

Greene, who had been a loyal supporter of Trump since the beginning of her political career, has found herself at odds with him in recent months. In response to her criticism, Trump branded her a "traitor" and said he would endorse a challenger against her when she runs for reelection next year.

According to Greene, her decision not to stand by Trump is rooted in her understanding that loyalty should be a two-way street. She argued that representatives are elected to vote their conscience and represent their district's interests, rather than solely following party lines.

Greene's exit from Congress marks the end of an era for her, as she had been closely tied to Trump since her emergence as a rising star in 2020. Her departure will ripple throughout the Republican ranks, leaving questions about what's next for this polarizing figure.

It remains to be seen whether Greene will continue to pursue politics after leaving office, although it seems unlikely given her history of provocative behavior and divisive views. With her last day set to be January 5, 2026, she is effectively ending a chapter in the tumultuous world of American politics.

I'm not buying this resignation story 🤔. Greene's been playing both sides for years and suddenly she's all about "voting conscience"? Sounds like an excuse to her if you ask me 😒. Trump's always been known for his volatile temper, but labeling someone a "traitor" over disagreements on policy is just plain childish. Did he really think that'd silence her? It sounds like he was trying to intimidate her into toeing the party line...which Greene refused to do. The real question here is what she's going to do next 🤷‍♀️. Will she just disappear or pop up with a new persona? One thing's for sure, this isn't the last we've seen of Marjorie Taylor Greene 😏.

🤯 I'm kinda feeling sorry for Marjorie Taylor Greene, ya know? She's been through so much with Trump and everyone else in the party. It's like, you gotta take care of yourself, right? Being in the public eye can be tough, especially when people are trying to bully you. But at the same time, I get it, she did stick by him even when others were criticizing his moves on some big issues. I think it's good that she's taking this opportunity to reflect and realize that loyalty shouldn't always mean blindly following someone. She might be leaving politics for good, which is a bummer, but we can all agree that the world could use more humility in leadership roles 🤝

OMG u wont believe what just happend!!! marjorie taylor greene just quit congress lol like who's gonna miss her?? 🤣 anyway i feel kinda bad for her cuz she got roasted by trump and the whole republicans crew now but let's be real she was always a bit of a wild card so it isnt like shes losin out on much 😂 anyways its about time someone showed her that loyalty is a 2 way street not just a one way ticket to nowhere 🚫👋

Omg I'm so shocked!!! 🤯 She's really doing this?! It's like she finally realized being part of the team doesn't always mean you gotta agree with everything they're about 🙅‍♀️ I mean, can you blame her? Loyalty is a two-way street and she didn't feel it anymore 😊 It's kinda sad that Trump made it so hard for her to stay loyal though, but I guess she did what was best for her 💁‍♀️ I'm curious to see if she'll try to get back into politics tho... idk 🤔
