Rape victims in England and Wales to be protected from 'serial liar' trope in legal shake-up

I'm so glad they're finally doing something about this 🙌🏼! It's absolutely horrific that victims are being put on trial by their own past traumas in court. I mean, can you even imagine how messed up your head would be if someone asked you to relive all the crap you've been through? 😩 It's like they're trying to make things worse for them.

I'm also loving the £550m funding for victim support 🤑💸. That's a huge amount of money that can actually do some good, you know? And those courtroom screens and companions are genius ideas 💡👍. I'm all about making court more comfortable and less traumatic for victims.

It's not like they're doing this out of the goodness of their hearts or anything 😜, but seriously, it's about time we start prioritizing survivors' well-being in our justice system. We need to get rid of those outdated laws that are just so... misogynistic 🙄. This is a huge step forward for change, and I'm totally here for it 💖!

This is literally a game-changer for rape victims! I mean can you even imagine having to go through all that trauma again just to answer some question about past complaints? 🤯 It's like they're being asked to relive their worst nightmare all over again. But seriously, this new law change is gonna make such a huge difference in people's lives. The fact that they're making it easier for victims to feel more in control and not be put on trial themselves is just amazing 💖. And I love how the government is finally listening to campaigners and prioritizing their experiences. It's about time we start putting victims first instead of making them feel like they're the ones who are 'liars' 😢. This new law change is like a breath of fresh air for everyone involved 💨

I mean come on its about time someone actually did something about this. I was talking to my friend last night and she was telling me how her aunt had to go through this and it was so traumatic for her. The fact that they're introducing screens in court to help victims feel less anxious is a great idea, but also kinda obvious. Can't believe the system took so long to catch up. And yeah £550m is nothing, but at least its something. What's your take on this? 🤔

🙌💖 I'm so relieved to hear about these new laws in the UK! It's like a weight has been lifted off the shoulders of so many rape victims who've been subjected to this awful trauma for far too long. The fact that barristers won't be able to question them about past experiences unless they have concrete evidence is just amazing. I can only imagine how scary and vulnerable people must feel in those situations, but now they'll finally get the justice and respect they deserve. 💪 And the £550m funding for victim support? Game-changer! It's like the government is finally listening to their voices and prioritizing their well-being. Let's keep spreading positivity and hope for a brighter future for all survivors 🌟

can't believe its finally happening 🙏, but what about the exceptions? like, whats gonna happen when they have solid evidence that the victim has lied in the past? are we just gonna sweep it under the rug and let the justice system function around it?

and another thing, £550m is a good start, but hows that gonna translate to real change on the ground? what about all those cases already piling up because of this exact kind of questioning? whats gonna happen to them then?

anyway, its a step in the right direction i guess 🤔, but we gotta keep pushing for more.
