I'm not sure about this new character... I mean, Paul Giamatti's acting range is insane but a villain like this feels kinda over the top for Star Trek. I get what they're going for with the "lowlife who thinks he's somebody" vibe, but it seems like it could be a bit too edgy for the franchise. Still, I do love how complex Giamatti's character sounds - that mix of envy and hatred is always interesting to see on screen. Fingers crossed they can pull off making Nus Braka both menacing and relatable
I'm not sure what's more surprising, Paul Giamatti playing a pirate-like character or him actually sounding like he's never met a kid before! I mean, who wouldn't want to play a villain that's basically just a grumpy old dude with a bad attitude? It sounds like Nus Braka is going to be the ultimate grump in space . But for real, it's awesome to see Giamatti bring some depth to his role - who knows, maybe he'll even make me not hate pirates in Starfleet Academy .
omg i'm lowkey excited for this new star trek movie paul giamatti is always great at playing complex characters and im sure he's gonna bring nus braka to life in a really interesting way... the fact that his character starts out as these "kids" envy and then turns into hatred is so juicy i love how he's saying braka is like this clown who thinks they're someone, but deep down is just a psychopath... that sounds like such a compelling arc for him
omg i love paul giamatti he's always been such a talented actor ! but nus braka sounds like a super interesting character... i mean who plays a villain that's both psychopath and sad at the same time? like that depth of complexity is exactly what makes a good movie, you know? and the fact that he's playing someone who thinks they're important but really isn't just adds to it. it's like when you see people online who are all confident but then you find out they're actually kinda toxic and manipulative... anyway, can't wait to see giamatti bring this character to life!
