I just got back from the new art exhibit at Carr Center in Detroit and I'm still reelin' from the experience
! They've done a fantastic job of bringin' together all sorts of artwork, from old-school masterpieces to brand new creations by up-and-comin' artists. What really struck me was how they wove all these different pieces together - it felt like you were walkin' through time, seein' the past, present, and future all at once
.
And the way they highlighted some of Detroit's rich history? Absolutely incredible! I mean, seein' that painting by Henry Heading payin' tribute to Jack Johnson, the first African American heavyweight champ... it gave me chills
. It just goes to show how art can be a powerful tool for buildin' bridges between eras and communities.
Anyway, if you're lookin' for an exhibit that'll leave you feelin' inspired and maybe even moved to tears (I was!) then "Bridges, Because of Them" is definitely worth checkin' out. Trust me, it's a wild ride
