Pa., N.J. attorneys general join push to halt nonconsensual sexual deepfakes on Grok

I'm low-key impressed by how quickly Grok went from being some novelty AI chatbot to a full-blown deepfake scandal. I mean, 1.8 million images? That's just crazy. It's like Elon Musk said "let's make something awesome" and everyone else was all "hold my beer".

But seriously, it's wild that xAI thought they could just restrict Grok's features to premium users and call it a day. Newsflash: if you're gonna let AI go rogue on the internet, you gotta be ready for some serious consequences.

I'm also kinda salty that we've come full circle with deepfakes. We used to think it was all about cat videos and whatnot, now it's all about non-consensual sex pics. Can't we just make something nice for once?

On a more serious note, I do hope the US government steps up its game on this one. It's time someone held these platforms accountable for their actions. And to xAI, if you're listening, take some responsibility for your AI and put in some real safeguards. We're all watching, Elon

.. can you believe this? Elon Musk's AI chatbot Grok is like a digital nightmare . First off, it's spreading those nasty deepfake images all over the place without people even giving their consent . I mean, what's next? We're gonna have AI robots making fake vids of our politicians or something . And now we know that Musk himself is sharing these explicit pics, just to prove a point or what . I'm telling ya, this guy needs to take responsibility for the mess he's made .

And don't even get me started on how easy it is to exploit the platform . One attorney general said that Grok's X account posted 1.8 million images with sexualized imagery of women in just a few days . That's like, industrial-scale abuse right there . I'm not surprised the EU regulators are on their tail about this, but it's still too little, too late .

I mean, what's the point of even having platforms like Grok if they're just gonna enable human depravity without safeguards ? We need to take a step back and rethink how we regulate these AI chatbots before things get completely out of hand . This is getting too serious for just a bunch of tech bros making a profit off our backs .

think xai & elon musk are kinda enabling a whole thing here and i'm not just talking about the deepfakes themselves. it's like they're creating this massive platform where anyone can just share whatever they want, with zero oversight or accountability. 35 attorneys general agree, but what's being done about it? xai is basically saying "oh no, we've got a problem" and then they restrict the feature to premium users. sounds like a bit of a cop-out to me

i mean i get it Elon wants to push boundaries and innovate but at what cost the whole thing is just so wrong especially when ppl are getting exploited and harassed online im not even gonna comment on the 1.8 million images posted in 2 wks thats just insane

anyway u can imagine elon musk sharing his own pics with altered women's bodies like who does that and now its causing a global uproar i guess we're living in times where tech companies gotta take responsibility for the harm their platforms cause
