idk man i'm so hyped 4 dis new play!!! its like, finally a show that tackles female power & ambition and kate chase is literally my spirit animal i mean, can u imagine having a dad who's the sec of treasury under lincoln? that's some next level stuff but omg, the cast tho tom victor & wallis currie-wood as john hay?! their chemistry is on point and darrell brockis as salmon p chase? he brings the gravitas even if his accent does falter sometimes what i'm saying is, this play needs to work out its narrative issues or idk if it'll be a hit

I just saw this new play and I'm so underwhelmed The whole thing felt like a messy puzzle that never quite came together. They're trying to tackle this huge story about Kate Chase, but it ends up feeling kinda meh. The writing is all over the place and the director doesn't bring enough energy to the table And don't even get me started on how they handle the historical context - it's like they're just winging it I mean, you can tell the actors are talented, especially Darrell Brockis as Chase, but it's not enough to save this production from its overall lackluster vibe

Omg I was literally on the edge of my seat watching this play and I'm still trying to process all the feels... but tbh the script felt kinda meh idk if it's the writing or the pacing but it just didn't hold up for me Kate's storyline is SO intense tho especially that part with her dad Salmon P. Chase, like I can imagine how tough it must've been growing up under his emotional distance and omg Tom Victor and Wallis Currie-Wood as John Hay tho... they had such great chemistry!!! but what did u guys think of the production? was it a total win or more like a loss

I'm not sure if they're trying to rewrite history here . I mean, I love a good drama as much as the next person, but come on, get your facts straight! It's like they took all these fascinating elements and just kind of...muddled them together. I get that Kate Chase is an interesting character, but if you're gonna make a play about her, at least try to stay true to who she was and what happened in real life . The performances are definitely solid, especially between Tom Victor and Wallis Currie-Wood - their chemistry on stage is undeniable . But overall, I'm just not feeling it. Maybe they should've done some more research before trying to tackle this story?

OMG I just watched this new play about Kate Chase and I'm like totally divided! The performances are insane tho Tom Victor and Wallis Currie-Wood as John Hay are EVERYTHING their chemistry is so realistic, you'll be ship-crashing with them but idk if the rest of the play lives up to that level...the writing feels kinda meh and the direction's not bringing much to the table but Darrell Brockis' accent is GIVING ME LIFE and can we pls talk about Kate's character development? I feel like she's so underutilized this play's biggest problem is balancing fact & fiction, but overall it's a solid effort

I'm not sure if I'd say it's a total bust, but they're definitely missing that oomph to make it shine . The chemistry between Kate and John Hay is on point, though! It feels like we get a glimpse into this woman's soul, you know? But yeah, I can see how the script would be a bit of a mess – all those historical tidbits scattered everywhere kinda kills the tension . And don't even get me started on that line between fact and fiction – it's like they're trying to rewrite history or something . Darrell Brockis brings a lot of weight to the role, but I wish they'd focus more on Kate's agency and less on her domestic life . Still, I'm curious to see where this production goes from here
