One of China’s most popular apps has the ability to spy on its users, say experts | CNN Business

this is a big deal 🤯, i mean pinduoduo has a lot of users in china and worldwide so it's not good to see them exploiting people's personal data without consent. like, what if they sold that info to 3rd party companies or used it for targeted ads? 🤑 anyway, the thing is, chinese gov isn't doing enough to regulate these things and it's up to us (the users) to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. i think pinduoduo should do more to reassure their users that they're taking this seriously and not just sweep it under the rug 🙅‍♂️.

🤯 I'm not surprised, tbh. Like, Chinese companies have been notorious for their lax cybersecurity measures 🙄. It's like they think their users are just, like, pawns in a game or something 😒. Meanwhile, we're over here stressing about our personal data being compromised every other day 🤯. And don't even get me started on the "regulatory failure" 🚫... I mean, come on, who's really holding anyone accountable? 😂

Wow 🤯 this is so bad, people need to be more careful with their personal data. I mean, we all know the importance of online security but it seems like some companies just don't get it. Pinduoduo's whole app was basically a breeding ground for malware and they didn't even notice it themselves! Interesting how regulators are supposed to keep an eye on things but it looks like they're missing the mark again.

OMG u guys this is so bad! 🤕 i cant even imagine if my data was accessed w/o my consent 😱 like pinduoduo just got lucky that no one caught it earlier? 🙅‍♂️ cybersecurity experts are saying the right thing, regulatory failure is not cool at all 🤦‍♂️ we need to hold these companies accountable for our data. u should be so grateful that the malware didnt harm ur social media accounts or somethin 😆 but seriously, this is a major breach of trust 🙏

🚨 This is a huge wake-up call for all us Chinese netizens! I mean, who knew Pinduoduo's shopping app was playing host to this nasty malware? 🤯 It's like they just left their back door wide open for hackers to come in and out. I'm not surprised the Ministry of Industry and Info Tech failed to detect it tho... that's what happens when you have a whole lot of apps on your plate. 😅

We need stricter regulations, ASAP! 🕰️ This isn't just about Pinduoduo, this is about the entire ecosystem we're living in. Companies gotta step up their cybersecurity game and regulators gotta do better too. 👊 I mean, what's the point of having all these lists if nobody's checking 'em? 🤔

I'm so worried about my personal info on Pinduoduo's app 🤯. I mean, if they can just get access to my location and contact list without me even knowing... what else could they be doing with it? 😱 It's crazy that the regulatory body didn't catch this sooner! 🙄 I guess that's why we need stricter laws and more oversight on tech companies' data practices. Like, if Pinduoduo wasn't caught, who knows how many other people's info got compromised? 🤔
