just saw this play and OMG it was SO intense!! mark strong as oedipus is literally commanding on stage, but lesley manville's jocasta is where it's at - her performance had me on the edge of my seat 
i loved how the director added those extra characters to make the family dynamics more relatable. and can we talk about the energy in that venue? it was like they were feeding off our emotions 
i did find the final flashback a bit rushed, but overall it's a must-see!

and lesley manville's jocasta is like a dark mirror to his soul... their chemistry on stage is ELECTRIC 
he took this ancient tragedy and made it feel SOLY relevant to today's world. the performances are just wow, both strong and manville have this intensity that makes you wanna scream
