Ocean City's Winter Warrior Challenge Returns on February 14th
Get ready for a day of grit and determination as Ocean City welcomes back its popular Winter Warrior Challenge on Saturday, February 14th. Taking place during Presidents Day Weekend at the Civic Center, this annual event is not just about athleticism but also community fun.
The challenge consists of a 2.5-mile obstacle course designed to push adults to their limits, with over 10 obstacles including tire runs, sand mounds, and a cargo net climb. The main course will have individual waves starting at 9 am, followed by a team wave at 10 am, where teams can compete together throughout the event.
However, it's not just about the adult competition. Ocean City is also hosting a kids challenge course featuring monkey bars, agility elements, and a rock wall. Young participants can test their skills from 10 am to noon, with family relays taking place from noon to 1 pm and open play available from 1 to 2 pm.
But what really sets this event apart is its focus on community and charity. All proceeds will benefit Ocean City Recreation Scholarships and Programs, making it a truly unique experience that goes beyond just competition.
To make things even more comfortable for participants, the Civic Center will serve as a warm social hub throughout the day, offering sponsor spotlight tables, hot chocolate, music, and fire heaters from 9 am to 2 pm. The awards ceremony will also take place indoors, where indoor warming areas, concessions, and other amenities are available.
Registration is now open, with online registration options available along with race-day sign-up. And for those who want a taste of the action without committing to the full course, there's an opportunity to give it a try from noon to 1 pm – as long as younger participants have an adult accompanying them.
In the end, every participant will receive a Winter Warrior finisher shirt, and top competitors across age groups will be awarded. It's going to be an action-packed day that's not just about winning but also about making new friends and contributing to a great cause.
