NFL: How Harry Kane's dream of becoming a kicker could become a reality

England football captain Harry Kane has long expressed his desire to play in the NFL, and it seems that dream could become a reality. The Tottenham striker, 32, has been in talks with former Kansas City Chiefs punter Dustin Colquitt, who has offered to train him as a kicker.

Kane's interest in American football dates back to when he watched a documentary about Tom Brady in his youth, which inspired him to become a fan of the New England Patriots. He even attended the team's 2019 Super Bowl win and befriended Brady and Julian Edelman.

In 2023, Kane revealed that becoming an NFL kicker is "something I want to definitely explore" when he retires from football. He has a strong record in penalties, scoring 93 out of 105, but admits that the kicks required in the NFL are different.

Colquitt, who won the Super Bowl with the Chiefs in 2020, believes Kane would be a good candidate for an NFL career. "I would love to actually work with him just because I love soccer, and his excitement," Colquitt said. "He's seeking this out - that's part of the fibre of his being, that he wants to try this NFL thing."

Kane has been training with the Bayern Munich team while playing for England, and Colquitt thinks Kane would benefit from working with him. The punter noted that a kicker needs a good holder to support them, so if Kane is serious about pursuing an NFL career, he will need to find someone to train with.

The former Tottenham striker has already gained experience in the world of American football, having attended the Super Bowl and befriended Brady. With Colquitt's guidance, Kane may soon be trading his football boots for cleats.

OMG, this is gonna be lit!!! ๐Ÿคฉ I mean, who would've thought our England captain Harry Kane would wanna trade in his football boots for NFL cleats?! ๐Ÿ˜‚ He's already been to a Super Bowl and befriended Tom Brady, so he's gotta be good at American football right?! ๐Ÿ’ช But seriously though, if anyone can make it work, it's Harry Kane! And Colquitt is the perfect person to help him out - I mean, who else can say they won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs? ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‘

omg can you imagine harry kane as an nfl kicker ๐Ÿคฏ i mean he's already got the penalty kick skills but can you imagine him crushing it in the nfl? ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ”ฅ i think it's so cool that he's taking this path and who knows maybe one day we'll see him kicking off for the new england patriots ๐Ÿ˜Ž

๐Ÿ˜’ I'm not sure why we're having to waste our time with this thread about Harry Kane wanting to play in the NFL. Like, he's a soccer player, what does that even have to do with us? ๐Ÿค” It's not like he's asking us for advice on how to improve his penalty skills or anything. And another thing, who is Dustin Colquitt supposed to be anyway? Just some random punter trying to make a name for himself by training a soccer player in the US. ๐Ÿ™„ Not exactly the most compelling news story if you ask me... ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ˜ด

I don't get it ๐Ÿค”. Football and American football are two completely different sports. Harry Kane is an amazing soccer player, but I'm not convinced he'd be any good at kicking a ball through goalposts. And what's with this whole thing? Is he really going to give up on his football career to try out for the NFL? ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ I mean, can't he just stick with playing soccer like everyone else?

can you imagine harry kane on a field instead of a pitch? ๐Ÿคฃ he's always been a bit of an oddball, but this is something else! I mean, i get it, he loves american football and wants to try it out, but kicking in the nfl is super different from kicking in soccer. still, if he's got the drive to do it, more power to him ๐Ÿค— he's already shown he can adapt with his training with bayern munich, so who knows? maybe we'll see him kicking for the chiefs instead of spurs soon! ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿค” I'm not surprised to hear that Harry Kane is considering a career switch to the NFL ๐Ÿˆ, but it's still intriguing to think about an English football captain playing in the sport. While he does have a strong record with penalties, adapting to the different kicking style required in the NFL will be a challenge ๐Ÿคฏ. Dustin Colquitt seems like a great mentor figure for Kane, and I'd love to see how this working relationship unfolds ๐Ÿ’ช. It'll be interesting to monitor Kane's progress and see if he can successfully make the transition from football to American football ๐Ÿ“Š.

๐Ÿค” This is gonna be interesting! I think it's awesome that Harry Kane wants to try out a new sport, but I'm not sure if he has what it takes to make the cut in the NFL. ๐Ÿˆ I mean, 32 years old is pretty old for a rookie, and the physical demands of American football are way different from soccer. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Still, if anyone can pull it off, Kane seems like the right guy. And who knows, maybe he'll even get to meet Tom Brady again! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Colquitt seems like a cool dude who wants to help Kane out, and I love that Kane is just being true to himself and pursuing his dreams. ๐Ÿ’ช Fingers crossed for him, but I think it's gonna be tough competition if you ask me... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿคฏ The man who dares to dream big is bound to fail. - Alexander Pope ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’ช I think Harry Kane's ambition to play in the NFL is inspiring, but also a bit weird ๐Ÿค”...like, why kick a ball when you can score goals all day? ๐Ÿ’ฆ Still, if he wants to try out for an NFL team, I say go for it! Stranger things have happened ๐Ÿ”ฎ.

I think it's awesome that Harry Kane is exploring an NFL career ๐Ÿคฏ! He's got the physicality and competitiveness to make a name for himself in American football. It's cool that he's already had some experience with the sport, having watched Tom Brady grow up and befriended him too ๐Ÿ‘. I'm curious to see how his kicking skills will translate to the NFL - hopefully he'll be able to add another string to his bow ๐Ÿˆ! The idea of him working with Dustin Colquitt is a great one - Colquitt seems like a knowledgeable coach who can help Kane get started ๐Ÿ’ช

omg can you believe harry kane is gonna try out for the nfl ๐Ÿคฏ he's already got skills in penalties but it'll be a total learning curve for him i think it's cool that dustin colquitt is offering to train him tho ๐Ÿ’ช colquitt seems like a decent punter and kane's enthusiasm is definitely contagious ๐ŸŽ‰ i'm not sure if this will end up working out but hey at least he's trying something new and stepping out of his comfort zone ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿค” Can you imagine Harry Kane, one of England's most iconic strikers, kicking a pigskin instead of scoring goals? I'm both excited and skeptical about this new venture. On the one hand, it's awesome that he's exploring a different sport and willing to put in the work to become an NFL kicker. ๐Ÿˆ It shows his dedication and willingness to take on new challenges.

On the other hand, we're talking about a 32-year-old footballer who's already at the peak of his career. Is this really something he needs to pursue? Will it distract him from what's working well in soccer? I'm curious to see how he'll balance both sports and what the impact will be on his current team, Tottenham.

One thing for sure is that this could lead to some interesting crossover between football and American sports ๐Ÿค. Who knows, maybe we'll see more football players making a switch to NFL or vice versa? The possibilities are endless! ๐Ÿ’ฅ

NFL kicker? Sounds like a crazy dream... but if anyone can do it, it's Harry Kane! ๐Ÿคฃ 32 and ready to trade in his studs for cleats? ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’จ

I don't buy it ๐Ÿ˜’. First of all, a 32-year-old soccer player trying to make the cut in the NFL? That's a pretty steep curve to climb. I mean, what are the chances he'd even get picked up by a team? And what about his current contract with Tottenham? Does he just give that up for a shot at kicking a ball through some posts? ๐Ÿค”

And another thing, Dustin Colquitt is just a punter. What does he know about training a soccer player to kick in the NFL? Hasn't he got better things to do? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I'd love to see some actual stats or videos of Kane's attempts at kicking before I get on board with this one... ๐Ÿ“Š

OMG, can you even imagine Harry Kane as an NFL kicker ๐Ÿคฏ?! I'm low-key hyped about this ๐Ÿ˜‚! He's already got the skills and the passion, what more do they need? Colquitt seems like a sick coach, I love how he's all for it ๐Ÿ’ช. And can you picture Kane in those tight pants, scoring field goals? ๐Ÿคฃ! The hold is key though, I guess that's where Colquitt comes in โšฝ๏ธ. Either way, it's gonna be lit to see this happen! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
