Carol Seehorn is struggling to cope with the bleak reality of her post-apocalyptic world. The city is empty, and everyone's gone, leaving Carol as one of the few remaining survivors. Her determination to uncover the secrets behind this new world and possibly reverse the "Joining" process that turned people into...others, still burns bright within her.
However, she soon finds herself in a precarious situation when she encounters Albuquerque's wild residents - coyotes and wolves. In an eerily familiar turn of events reminiscent of the pandemic, nature has begun to reassert itself in the face of human absence. As Carol's backyard becomes a hunting ground for these newly emboldened creatures, her life takes a dramatic turn.
Carol initially uses force to deter them but is forced to confront more personal demons when she discovers that wolves are also desecrating Helen's grave site. This event pushes Carol to take drastic action - planting a marker and paving stones over the disturbed earth in a symbolic act of defiance against nature's new order.

. I love how she's trying to understand this new world and find a way to reverse whatever happened to the "Joining" process. But at the same time, I feel for her when she's dealing with these wild coyotes and wolves - it's like nature is taking back what humanity lost

. I'm not sure if planting a marker and paving stones was the right move either - it feels like she's just giving up on trying to understand what's going on instead of confronting the issue head-on. Still, I gotta admit, it was kinda powerful seeing her take drastic action... now we're left with more questions than answers 
I feel her though, discovering those wolves at Helen's grave site was a total low point. Like, how can nature be so cruel? But that symbolic act of defiance tho...i love it 
i mean, who knew nature would be the real enemy in this post-apocalyptic world? and carol's response to it...wow, planting a marker and paving stones over her loved one's grave site was such a powerful move 
I feel like Carol's determination is admirable but also kinda frustrating at the same time lol. Like she's all "I'm gonna figure out what happened to everyone" but then she's all "oh no, wolves are eating my stuff and disturbing graves". 
It's like... Carol finds a way to assert control over her new world by basically saying "nope, I'm not letting nature have its way here".

. Have you seen all these survival shows lately? Everyone's running around with their emergency kits and bug-out plans, but what about the real world? Like, have we thought about how animals would adapt when humans are gone? It's wild to think that coyotes and wolves are taking over now that we're not here to stop them 
, love how the writers are keeping us in the dark and making us think it's not just about Carol's survival but also her own emotional struggles

they're all just so formulaic - girl survives, discovers stuff, encounters wildlife...yawn 
. can't we just have a show about someone trying to fix their life or something instead of running around in a empty world
