The US is at a crossroads with this whole immigration enforcement thing

. On one hand, you've got law-abiding citizens who want to protect their own rights and safety, like Governor Murphy's stance

. But then you've got immigrant communities that are literally living in fear of ICE raids and deportation

. This is where the real policy-making happens, people

.
I mean, can we really say that the Minneapolis shooting was somehow justified by law enforcement cooperation with ICE? I don't think so

. It's time for us to take a hard look at our immigration policies and ask ourselves what we're trying to achieve here

. Are we trying to build a more just society, or are we just trying to appease the special interests of the federal government?
The fact that Senator Timberlake is calling this legislation "a slight step in the right direction" speaks volumes to me

. We need more leaders like her who are willing to take bold action and protect our most vulnerable citizens

. And as for Assemblyman Myhre's criticism of these bills, I'd say he's just playing politics

.
The real question here is: what's the end game? Are we trying to build a more inclusive society, or are we just trying to placate our base with token legislation?

The answers will determine whether we're moving in the right direction, my friends
