Michigan Rattlers announce ‘indefinite hiatus’ - Detroit Metro Times

Michigan Rattlers, a beloved rock band from Petoskey, has announced an indefinite hiatus. The group, which consists of childhood friends Graham Young, Adam Reed, Christian Wilder, and Tony Audia, shared the news on social media Thursday.

In a heartfelt post, the band members expressed their gratitude to fans for their unwavering support over the past decade. They reminisced about the countless shows they've played, including performances at iconic venues like Pine Knob, which saw them open for music legend Bob Seger in 2019.

The band's journey, which spanned ten years and hundreds of live appearances across all 50 states, was marked by significant changes in their sound. They transitioned from an alt-country to a synth-rock style with last year's critically acclaimed album "Waving From a Sea," produced by Detroit-based musician Dominic John Davis.

While the future of Michigan Rattlers remains uncertain, the band members hinted at new opportunities on the horizon, urging fans to stay tuned for what's to come. As they bid farewell for now, their devoted fan base will undoubtedly miss the energetic live performances and infectious melodies that made them a staple of the local music scene.

omg, so sad to hear about Michigan Rattlers 🤕... those guys have been rocking out for years and it's crazy how fast time flies 🕰️. i'm not surprised though, they did say indefinite hiatus which is still kinda a bummer 😔. but yay for all the amazing shows they played and memories they made! who knows what's next for them tho? maybe they'll come back stronger or collaborate with other artists 🤞. it's always sad when fave bands take a break, but we can't control their decisions 🙅‍♂️. anyway, i hope Graham, Adam, Christian, and Tony stay in touch with fans - that would be awesome 💕!

😔 I'm gonna miss these guys so much! They're such an iconic part of our Michigan rock scene 🤘 Michigan Rattlers have been bringing so much energy to their shows, it's like they always knew how to get us pumped up 🎸 I loved watching them evolve from alt-country to synth-rock - that "Waving From a Sea" album was EVERYTHING 🌊 It's weird thinking about the band going on hiatus... what does the future hold for these guys? Hopefully we'll see new music or maybe even a reunion in the future 🤞

ugh, it's like they're just going to leave us hanging... an indefinite hiatus? sounds like code for "we've finally figured out we can't do this anymore" 🤷‍♂️ i mean, don't get me wrong, i loved their synth-rock vibes on that last album, but 10 years is a long time, and it's not like they were touring every other week. fans are gonna miss those live shows for sure... and what about all the merch? who's gonna sell that now? 🛍️ guess we'll just have to look forward to new opportunities from the individual members, but it's not the same as having Michigan Rattlers back together again 💔

🤔 just heard about Michigan Rattlers going on hiatus 🎸😢 still can't believe it, been listening to those guys since they were teens... 🔥 their live shows were always so much fun 😃 and who can forget that opening gig for Bob Seger back in 2019?! 🎶 I'm gonna miss their synth-rock vibes 🕺 and the nostalgia of their alt-country days 🌄 hope they come out of this hiatus with something new and amazing 👀

🤯 Another rock band bites the dust...literally. I mean, who doesn't love a good farewell tour, am I right? 🙄 It's like they're all saying, "Thanks for sticking around, folks! We've got some new stuff cooking, but don't worry, we'll still be relevant in your nostalgia-tinged dreams." 😏 Meanwhile, I'm over here thinking, "Who's gonna open for Bob Seger at Pine Knob now?" 🎸😂

Oh man I'm so bummed to hear about the hiatus 🤕! Michigan Rattlers has been one of my fave bands for years and seeing them live was always such an amazing experience 💥. They've got such a unique sound that's hard to replicate, it's no wonder they've built up such a devoted fan base over the past decade 💖. I'm curious to see what new opportunities are on the horizon for these guys 🤔, maybe we'll get to hear some solo projects or collaborations from each member? The synth-rock direction they took with "Waving From a Sea" was really innovative and I loved it 🎶. Fingers crossed that they come back together in the future, but for now it's time to cherish the memories of their live shows and music 🎟️ #RattlersForever #SynthRockPioneers

What a bummer! I'm gonna miss those guys so much 🤕. They were always so high-energy on stage and their synth-rock sound was infectious! I've seen them live like 5 times and they never failed to put on an epic show. I'm curious though, what's the deal with going into hiatus? Is it just a needed break or is there something more going on? Hopefully, it's not the end of music altogether for these guys 😊

🤕 The sad news about Michigan Rattlers hitting an indefinite hiatus is a real bummer 🎸. I mean, can you imagine not getting to see these guys live again? 🌪️ Their synth-rock sound was so infectious and their energy on stage was always electric 💥. It's crazy to think that in just one decade they've gone from alt-country to making music with synths – it's been quite the wild ride 🎟️. Still, I'm excited for whatever new adventures Graham, Adam, Christian, and Tony have cooking up in their future projects 🤔. We might not get to see Michigan Rattlers again on stage anytime soon, but who knows what amazing music is still waiting to be created 🎶

🤘 Ah man, I'm gonna miss Michigan Rattlers so much! They've been such a big part of the music scene in MI for years, and it's crazy to think they're hanging up their instruments 🎸. I mean, who can forget that epic show at Pine Knob with Bob Seger? 🤯 They've come a long way since their alt-country days and really found their sound with "Waving From a Sea". The synth-rock vibes were infectious and had me dancing every time! 💃 What's next for them though? Maybe they'll surprise us with some solo projects or collabs? Fingers crossed we get to see them pop back up on stage soon 🎟️

.. think about it, these guys have been making music together since they were kids 🤔... 10 years is a big chunk of time, and now they're just saying "you know what, we're done" 😐... I get it, creative paths diverge, but man, that's still weird to me... all those shows across the US, they must've seen some wild stuff 🌃... you'd think after a decade, their sound would be more defined, but nope, they changed up on us like 3 times 🔄... and now what? New adventures or just another chapter closing 🔜
