Detroit's Midtown Just Got a Taste of the Mediterranean with Medusa's Grand Opening
A new restaurant has taken up residence in Detroit's vibrant Midtown neighborhood, bringing with it the bold flavors and rich history of Sicily. Medusa, the latest venture from renowned Italian chef Anthony Lombardo, co-owner of acclaimed SheWolf Pastificio & Bar, officially opened its doors on Thursday at 664 Selden St.
Lombardo's vision for Medusa is to transport diners to the sun-kissed Mediterranean coast through the simple yet vibrant cuisine. "The food's simple: olive oil, capers, olives, tomatoes, anchovies," he revealed in an interview with Hour Detroit magazine last year. "We're going to tell the story of Sicily through our menu, through our service and our hospitality, and hopefully teach everyone about the uniqueness of this very special place."
While the restaurant's space has seen its fair share of concept changes over the years, Medusa is looking to put down roots in Midtown with its Mediterranean-inspired dishes. To make a reservation, guests can visit medusa-detroit.com.
With Lombardo at the helm, there's no shortage of excitement for foodies and newcomers alike. Will Medusa live up to the expectations set by its esteemed predecessor? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – Detroit's Midtown has just become an even more exciting culinary destination.
