Medusa celebrates grand opening in Detroit’s Midtown - Detroit Metro Times

Medusa's Siren Song: A Taste of Sicily in Detroit's Midtown

A new restaurant has risen from the ashes of failed concepts, and this time it's a siren song of flavor that's drawing diners to its doorstep. Medusa, the latest venture from SheWolf Pastificio & Bar co-owner Anthony Lombardo, officially opened its doors on Thursday at 664 Selden St. in Detroit's vibrant Midtown neighborhood.

Located just a stone's throw away from Lombardo's acclaimed Italian restaurant, Medusa promises to transport patrons to the sun-kissed Mediterranean coast through its menu and hospitality. The restaurant's focus is squarely on the cuisine of Sicily, with dishes that celebrate the simplicity and richness of olive oil, capers, olives, tomatoes, and anchovies.

"We're going to tell the story of Sicily through our menu, through our service and our hospitality, and hopefully teach everyone about the uniqueness of this very special place," Lombardo told Hour Detroit magazine last year. The chef's words ring true as diners take their first bite into a dish that embodies the essence of Sicilian cuisine.

Medusa joins a crowded Midtown dining scene that has seen its fair share of restaurant concepts come and go. Yet, with Lombardo at the helm, there's an undeniable energy about this new addition. Reservations are encouraged, as diners eager to taste Medusa's culinary offerings can visit medusadetroit.com.

As Detroit's food landscape continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how Medusa fares in this competitive scene. One thing is certain: the restaurant's commitment to showcasing the unique flavors of Sicily will surely leave a lasting impression on those who dare to take a bite.
