OMG I'm so happy about this ! The Elizabeth Street Garden is literally a hidden gem in Nolita and I think it's amazing that Mayor Eric Adams has finally come around to preserving it as a city parkland. I mean, can you imagine all those fancy apartments going up instead? It would've totally changed the vibe of the neighborhood . Plus, it's not just about the garden itself, but also the community that comes with it – there are so many cool events and art installations that make it super special . I'm glad Habitat for Humanity is looking into this too, maybe they can find a way to work around the city's plans for affordable housing? Fingers crossed!
omg i was so worried when i heard zohran mamdani wanted to build apartments on that beautiful garden but now im glad he messed up mayor eric adams made the right call it's like, what's wrong with preserving a green space in nolita? we need more of those in this city. and can you even imagine robert de niro and patti smith just chillin' in the garden without all the drama fingers crossed it stays public parkland for good
OMG , I'm so glad Eric Adams did this! That garden is literally the heart of Nolita and we can't just lose it to some fancy new apartments . I mean, who needs more affordable housing when you have a green space like that?! It's been a crazy debate for years, but finally someone in power listened . Now, let's hope Zohran Mamdani doesn't come back from the grave and try to mess this up again . This designation is like a lifeline for the garden and its community . Fingers crossed it stays that way!
