Manchester United pulled off a coup by signing Lea Schüller – so what will she bring?

Manchester United have made a significant addition to their women's team with the signing of prolific goal-scorer Lea Schüller, marking a rare instance of a player surpassing the 10-goal mark in the Women's Super League. The German striker boasts an impressive record of 54 goals in 82 international matches and has already proven herself as a key figure for her national team.

Schüller's impressive attributes, including speed, two great feet, and strong heading ability, make her well-suited to Manchester United's playing style. According to coach Daniel Kraus, who worked with Schüller at SGS Essen between 2016 and 2019, she has everything needed to be a world-class striker.

The new signing is expected to bring confidence and a scoring touch to United's attack. With the team already known for their high volume of crosses, which should play to Schüller's strengths in terms of speed and headers. The club has signed her on a three-and-a-half-year contract until June 2029, allowing her to spend the best years of her career with the Manchester United women's team.

Schüller began her playing career at local club Hülser SV before moving on to score over 100 goals for Bayern Munich, although this season found game time harder to come by. Her ability to thrive in an attacking role and deliver results will be key to Manchester United's success, particularly if she can form a strong partnership with players such as Fridolina Rolfö and Ella Toone.

With the club's coaching staff optimistic about Schüller's potential to settle into the team quickly, fans are eagerly anticipating her first game in action. As one of the top forwards to join the WSL in recent years, Manchester United is hoping that Lea Schüller will become a key player in their bid for success and potentially even contribute to Germany's international team as well.

Schüller's got the skills, speed and finishing ability to make a real impact on the pitch. I'm loving the fact that she's signing on for 3.5 years too - it shows the club's commitment to building a strong team. Can't wait to see her in action and cause some chaos at opposing teams' defenses 🚀.

OMG, 10 goals in the Women's Super League? That's like me eating 10 whole pizzas by myself 🍕😂! Just kidding, but seriously, Lea Schüller is a beast on the field! I mean, who wouldn't want to sign someone with 54 goals in international matches? She's like a strikking machine 🔫💥. And can you imagine her partnering up with Fridolina Rolfö and Ella Toone? It's like a goal-scoring party up in here 🎉👯. The question is, will she be able to score more than 10 goals this season? If not, I'll just have to send my pizza coupons to the club 🍕🤑.

Omg I just saw this news & I'm SO hyped about it!!! 🤩 Lea Schüller sounds like an absolute beast on the pitch - 54 goals in 82 int'l matches? That's insane!!! 😲 Manchester United is gonna kill it with her on board, especially with those crazy crosses they're known for. Fridolina Rolfö and Ella Toone are gonna have to bring their A-game if they wanna keep up with Schüller's goal-scoring record 🤯 Can't wait to see her debut! ⏰

omg i'm so hyped for lea schüller to join manchester united!! 🤩 she sounds like an absolute beast on the pitch! 54 goals in 82 int matches is insane! 😲 i love that she has a strong headed ability too, it's gonna be sick to see her scoring those headers. ⚽️ i'm curious to see how she'll gel with fridolina rolfö and ella toone, but from what the coach says, they've got a solid plan in place. 🤝 fingers crossed that schüller brings that confidence & scoring touch to the team. 🙏 let's hope man utd can become super dominant in the wsl! 💪

just hope schüller can make an impact at man united 🤞 she seems like a game changer with 54 goals in 82 int'l matches... wonder how she'll fit into the team tho 👀

I don’t usually comment but I think this signing is massive for Manchester United’s women’s team 🤩🏆! Lea Schüller has an insane goal record, 54 goals in just 82 int'l matches, that's crazy 💥. She seems like a perfect fit for their style of play with her speed and heading ability 🔴⚽️. It's also great to see them signing on a decent contract, 3.5 years is a lot ⏰. I'm excited to see how she'll gel with the other players like Fridolina Rolfö and Ella Toone 🤝. This could be a real turning point for the team, fingers crossed they can make it happen 💪👍

🤔 I think this signing is a massive boost for Man Utd womens team. She's got the skills to make a real difference, especially with all those crosses being thrown in. I'm excited to see her work with Fridolina and Ella. Will be interesting to see how she settles into the team, but if anyone can bring confidence and goals to United, it's Lea Schüller 🎉.

man i'm so hyped about this signing 🤩! 54 goals in just 82 int matches? that's insane! lea schüller is literally the real deal 💯 i mean, i know manchester united has always been a big club but this is like the icing on the cake 🍰. she's got speed, skill and can even head in goals which will be huge for them with all those crosses they love to throw around 🔥. i'm also loving that she's only signed for 3.5 yrs so hopefully she'll be there for a good chunk of their future plans 👏

Ugh, another overpriced transfer... I mean, I guess it's great for them, but what about the financial burden on the fans? 🤑 Like, how are they going to afford season tickets with all these high-profile signings? And don't even get me started on the injuries... Schüller has had her fair share of setbacks already, so let's just say I'm not getting my hopes up 🤕. The coaching staff is always hyping up new players, but what about those who've been there for years, quietly putting in the work? Do they get a mention? It's like they're just pawns in the game...
