and it's making me so sad... the stats are crazy though - did u know that in 2024, the US saw a 10% increase in gun-related deaths compared to 2023?

and we all know Chicago is one of the cities hit hard by this issue
anywayz, according to the FBI's data, the majority (64%) of gun deaths are committed with handguns

, which is just wild

. and get this - Illinois has seen a 15% rise in handgun sales since 2022

... it's like, what's going on?!
as for the police investigation, they're looking at surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and collecting evidence from the scene

. but with no leads yet, it's hard to say how this case will play out

btw, did u know that most victims of gun violence are male (77% in 2024), and they're mostly between 25-44 years old?

those numbers are just heartbreaking
