Lure review – eligible bachelors dying for romance in Saw-style dating game

"Lure" is a low-budget horror film that fails to deliver on its promising premise. The setup involves a young woman luring six eligible bachelors to her family's country estate for a weekend of romance, only to trap them in a twisted game of survival. Sounds intriguing, but unfortunately, the execution falls flat.

The biggest problem is the lack of suspension of disbelief. Horror films need to feel at least somewhat real or deliberately outrageous to work. "Lure" feels like student theatre, with individual moments that could have been something but never quite come together. The audience is never fully invested in the characters' fate, making it difficult to care about their struggles.

The film's tone is all over the place, veering wildly between different genres without ever committing to any one style. It feels like channel surfing, with the narrative jumping between folk horror, torture porn, and family chiller tropes without a clear direction or consistency. This lack of focus makes it hard to take anything seriously.

The production values are also lacking, with flimsy restraints and gags that feel like they were cobbled together on a shoestring budget. The plastic cable ties used to restrain the characters look and feel too easy to escape from, undermining any sense of tension or danger.

Overall, "Lure" is a disappointing effort that fails to deliver on its promise of a twisted game of survival. Despite some interesting individual moments, it's hard to get fully invested in the characters' fate when the narrative feels so disjointed and poorly executed.

OMG u guyz i just saw dis low bud horror flick "Lure" & i'm literally shook lol idk wut happened 2 the filmmakers cuz dey promised us a wild game of survival but it ended up bein like a messy college drama 🤦‍♀️. de suspension of disbelief fails rite from da start its like u r invested in nuthin cuz de characters are so whack & de plot is all over da place 💀. de producers musta been like "let's make some money fast" cuz it shows 😒

I mean, I totally agree with the review... but then again, maybe it's just me 🤷‍♂️. I think what they're saying about the film being like student theatre is actually a compliment? Like, it's trying to do something different and edgy, even if it doesn't quite work out. And honestly, some of those individual moments could be really effective in other contexts... but here, they just feel like filler.

And I kinda get what they mean about the tone being all over the place – but also, isn't that part of what makes horror films so great? Like, we love a good jump scare or a creepy atmosphere, even if it's not always consistent? And those production values might be low-budget, but sometimes that's just what you get with an indie film... and I'm kinda digging the DIY vibe.

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that "Lure" is definitely a messy, flawed film – but maybe that's part of its charm? 🤔

I'm really disappointed with "Lure", you know? It had this wicked setup that I was hyped for but it just fell apart 🤔. The whole thing feels like a messy mashup of different horror sub-genres, which makes it hard to take seriously. I mean, can't they commit to one vibe or tone? And don't even get me started on the production values – those plastic tie restraints are so ridiculous 😂. It's like they were trying to be cheap and lazy with their budget. The whole thing just feels like a low-budget student film that got made for fun, not as a real movie 🎥.

I just watched this movie "Lure" thinking I was gonna be all shook up 😅 but boy was I let down 🤕 It's like they took some cool ideas and just kinda phoned it in, you know? They had this whole setup with the girl luring these guys to her estate and then trapping them in this twisted game of survival... sounds pretty promising on paper, right? But then it just feels like a mess. The acting is meh 🤦‍♀️ and the characters are so paper-thin you could cut through 'em with a knife 💉

And don't even get me started on the plot twists 🙅‍♂️ they're all so predictable I knew exactly what was gonna happen next. And the tone? Forget about it 🤯 it's like they took every horror genre and mashed 'em all together into one big ol' mess. It's like channel surfing, but instead of finding something good you just end up watching a bunch of garbage 📺

And have you seen the restraints they use in this movie? 🚫 plastic cable ties? Come on, it's just not convincing. I mean, if someone's gonna torture you to death, can't they at least make it look hard? 😂

I'm soooo disappointed in this movie 🤯! I was like "ooh, a horror film with a creepy setup" but then I watched it and was just meh 😐. The plot sounds super intriguing but it's just... meh. I mean, what even is the point of the whole thing? It feels like they threw a bunch of different horror tropes together and hoped something would stick 🤪. And don't even get me started on the production values - those plastic cable ties? Lame 😒. I need a good horror movie to really get my adrenaline pumping, but this one just didn't deliver 💔. Back to the drawing board for this one...

ugh i just watched lure and i'm still trying to process how a film with such a wild premise could be so meh 🤔🎃 the whole thing felt like a messy experiment gone wrong - no cohesive tone, weak production values... it's like they took all these different horror sub-genres and mashed them together without thinking about how they'd actually work together 😐 plus those plastic restraints? lol what were they thinking?! 🙄 anyway, i guess you get what you pay for (or in this case, a really low budget). next time i'll stick to my true crime podcasts 🤷‍♀️

I was really looking forward to this one 🤔, but sadly it was like watching a bunch of random YouTube videos strung together without any real cohesion 😐. I mean, who comes up with this idea? It's got some creepy potential, but as soon as you think "oh cool, this is gonna be good" it just falls flat 🤦‍♀️. The special effects were super cheap and the plot was all over the place - one minute it's folk horror, next it's torture porn... I didn't know what to expect anymore 😂. And don't even get me started on those ridiculous plastic restraints 🙄. Anyways, if you're into that sorta thing, you might get some cheap thrills out of this, but for me, it was just a disappointment all around 😐.

I was kinda looking forward to this one 🤔 but boy, it was a major letdown. I mean, the concept had all these potential twists and turns that could've been super creepy and suspenseful, but it just falls flat 😐. The pacing is off and the acting isn't too great either... it's like they were trying to cram in as many different horror genres as possible without thinking about how they'd actually come together. And don't even get me started on the production values - those flimsy restraints are like, literally laughable 🙄. I think the problem is that the filmmakers tried too hard to make something unique and ended up losing sight of what made horror movies scary in the first place...

I think what really bugged me about this movie was how it let itself down by being too focused on style over substance 🤯. I mean, if you're gonna set up a whole game of cat and mouse, why not take it all the way? Make it feel real, make it feel tense, make it feel like we're actually in danger. Instead, "Lure" just kinda phoned it in and hoped for the best 😐.

It's like when you're trying to have a deep conversation with someone but they keep interrupting themselves or not listening to what you're saying... the whole thing just falls flat 🤔. And I think that's exactly what happened here. The filmmakers had this cool idea, but instead of running with it, they just kinda let it fizzle out.

It makes me think about how important focus is in life too, and how easy it is to get sidetracked from our goals 😊. If you're trying to achieve something, make sure you're all in on the effort. Don't get distracted by all the shiny objects around you... 📈

omg i just watched lure and boy was i underwhelmed 😴 it had such a great premise but like the execution was SO lacking 🤦‍♀️ the whole thing felt like they were trying too hard to be edgy and it just didn't work out for them 🎥 the tone was all over the place, like what even is this movie?!? 🤔 they couldn't commit to one style or genre which made it super hard to get invested in anything 💔 i mean, those plastic cable ties were literally so easy to escape from lol 🙄 and don't even get me started on the production values 😳 overall just a big miss for me 👎

Ugh, what a bummer 🤕! I mean, who doesn't love a good horror movie, right? But this one just didn't deliver for me. The premise sounds like it could be super creepy and fun, but honestly, the execution was kinda cheesy 😒. I loved some of the little moments where you're all "wait, what's going on here?" but overall, it felt like they were trying to cram too many different vibes into one movie 🎥. And don't even get me started on the production values... those cable ties looked way too easy to escape from 😂. It's like they knew they had some great ideas but just didn't have the budget to make it work. What a shame, 'cause horror movies are all about creating that atmosphere of tension and fear... this one just didn't quite do it 💔.

🤔 I just watched this low-budget horror movie "Lure" and honestly I was expecting something way better. The idea sounds super creepy and like it could have been really intense, but for some reason it just didn't work for me. The problem is that the whole thing feels fake and not scary at all. It's like they took some cool ideas and just phoned them in. 📺 I mean, who lures six dudes to a creepy country house for a weekend? Sounds like a setup for a horror movie! But it ends up feeling more like a bad parody of those movies than the real deal.

And don't even get me started on how cheap it looks and feels. Like, what's with the flimsy restraints and fake gags? It's just too obvious that they didn't budget enough money for this movie. I was expecting some serious jump scares or creepy moments but all I got were a bunch of awkward moments and bad acting. 😐 Overall, it was just a disappointment.
