List of retailers offering discounts to SNAP recipients amid shutdown

Food Delivery Companies Step in to Help SNAP Recipients Hit by Shutdown

As the federal government prepares to freeze Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments, major food delivery companies are offering discounts and relief to low-income families struggling with hunger. Instacart has announced it will provide 50% off its next grocery order for customers using SNAP benefits, while also pledging $5 million in support for food banks.

In an effort to ease the financial burden on families, DoorDash is waiving delivery fees for over 300,000 SNAP orders in November, in partnership with major retailers like Sprouts, Dollar General, Stop & Shop, and Winn-Dixie. Meanwhile, Gopuff has launched a program that will give its users $50 worth of free groceries.

Additionally, Zip Co. is providing temporary no-fee payment plans for eligible users, offering a lifeline to families affected by the shutdown. With these initiatives, food delivery companies are stepping up to support those most in need during this challenging time.

I'm livid that we're even having to rely on big corporations to bail out our own government 🀯. Like, can't they just sort out their financials or something? Food delivery companies are basically giving away money and groceries because people can't afford food anymore. It's a Band-Aid solution at best. What's wrong with our lawmakers that they can't be bothered to fix the system? It's all about who's got the most $$$ and influence, not about helping people πŸ€‘. At least these companies are doing something, but it feels like a last resort...

it's crazy how things come full circle, isn't it? I mean, back in my day, we didn't have all these fancy food delivery apps and whatnot. If you needed groceries, you either went shopping yourself or relied on your family members to help out. now, companies are stepping up to support those struggling with hunger - gotta admit, it warms this old heart a bit ❀️. 50% off grocery orders? that's like winning the lottery back in the '80s when we used to play Wheel of Fortune πŸŽ‰. and these companies are donating millions to food banks? that's just good ol' American business sense, if you ask me 😊. it's nice to see some big corps giving back to the community during tough times... hope this shutdown gets sorted out soon! 🀞

omg i cant believe these food delivery companies r doing this 🀯 its like they r trying to save ppl from starving or something! instacart just giving 50% off for people with snap? thats genius πŸ’‘ and dont even get me started on door dash waiving fees for over 300k orders - thats like, a lifesaver right there πŸ˜‚. i feel so bad for these families who r struggling to make ends meet because of the shutdown. its not right that they have to worry about food too πŸ€• but at least companies are stepping up and trying to help. zip co is also doing its part with temporary payment plans - thats just amazing πŸ’–. lets hope this helps ppl out during this tough time 😊

πŸˆπŸ’• I'm so glad to see these food delivery companies jumping into action! Like, who would've thought that ordering groceries online could be a way to get some relief from hunger? 🀯 The 50% off deal from Instacart sounds like a great idea, but what about people who can't even afford the free delivery fee on DoorDash? Are they getting any help with that? And how's it going to work for those who don't have smartphones or internet access? πŸ’»πŸ“±

OMG 🀯 just saw that Instacart is offering 50% off groceries for SNAP recipients! That's so cool πŸ™Œ, I hope they can really help out a lot of fams who are struggling right now. And yay for DoorDash waiving fees on over 300k orders 😊, that's amazing! Gopuff's $50 grocery gift is also super generous πŸ’ΈπŸ΄. And Zip Co.'s no-fee payment plans will definitely make things easier for some people πŸ™, it's awesome that these companies are stepping up to support each other and the community ❀️. Fingers crossed this helps ease some of the stress during this tough time 🀞

Man, it's crazy how times have changed 🀯. I mean, back in my day, we didn't even think about SNAP programs being affected by government stuff. It's like, hello, these people are struggling just to put food on the table, and now they're gonna be cut off? 😩. But, you know, it's not all bad news. Food delivery companies are stepping up to help, which is awesome πŸ‘. I mean, 50% off grocery orders for SNAP users? That's like a lifesaver πŸ™Œ. And the fact that they're waiving fees and giving out free groceries? Forget about it! It's like they're saying, "Hey, we got you, fam πŸ’•". Now, if only we had more people looking out for each other like this... πŸ€—. Anyway, gotta give props to these companies for taking initiative πŸ™.

I'm seeing more and more big corps jumping into the gap left by our gov't 🀝 these initiatives might not be a substitute for actual policy change but it's better than nothing right? 50% off grocery orders or waiving delivery fees is a decent start, I guess, especially for those who can't even afford to buy food in the first place. And hey, free groceries are always a good thing πŸ”. But what really gets me is that these companies are stepping up like this because they have to – not because they want to πŸ€‘. It's almost like we're waiting for someone else to save us instead of taking care of our own problems. Still, I guess it's better than nothing and at least some people will get the help they need πŸ‘
