omg u wont believe dis!!! so Sean Dunn got acquitted after hurling that crazy submarine-style sandwich lolol what is wrong wit these ppl?? like isnt it obvious he didnt mean 2 hurt anyone?? the fact dat they tried 2 charge him w/ a crime 4 throwin a sandwich is just insane like wat r we livin in here??? the govmt needs 2 get its act together & stop overreaching already!
I'm not surprised they acquitted him . I mean, it's just a dumb sandwich . But for real though, the fact that it got all national attention and sparked discussions about police power is kinda wild. The idea that you can get charged with a crime for throwing a sandwich at someone wearing a ballistic vest is pretty crazy. It's like, if we're gonna talk about the limits of federal authority in D.C., shouldn't we be talking about some actual serious crimes? Like, I get it, the officer was in the wrong too, but come on . And can you imagine if they'd identified those three jurors who were worried about being publicly shamed? That's just weird . Anyway, I guess the acquittal is a reminder that sometimes, even in the US, our justice system can be pretty unpredictable .
.. I don't think it's that simple . Yeah, Sean Dunn threw a sub-sandwich at a CBP officer and it was kinda crazy, but maybe it wasn't the end of the world either... The idea that he shouldn't be charged with a crime because it's not that serious doesn't sit right with me though. I mean, who gets to decide what is or isn't serious? And what about if someone were to get hurt by that sandwich? Shouldn't we try to figure out how to prevent things like that from happening in the future rather than just shrugging it off?
It's also kinda worrying that some of the jurors felt they might be targeted for speaking out against the verdict . That doesn't seem right, you know? We're all supposed to be able to have our opinions and discuss them without fear of retribution... or at least, that's how it should work . Anyway, I guess we'll just have to keep having this conversation about what is and isn't acceptable behavior in our country
I dont get why they got charged with a crime for throwin a sandwich... like what's next? They gotta charge people for makin a joke or somethin? I mean, im glad the jury saw through all that and decided not to send Sean Dunn to prison. It's just a stupid sandwich! And i can see how the jurors were confused about whether it was even a federal crime... newsflash: it ain't! The whole thing seemed like a big misunderstanding to me, and im glad its been sorted out.
I mean, what's up with the way that whole trial went down? Like, two people were in the jury and they thought it was ridiculous. And another thing, why did it even go federal? I don't get how some dude throwin' a sandwich became a "crime". It just seems like an easy way to mess with the system. And on top of that, there were people who didn't wanna be named 'cause they're worried about getting harassed... that's wild. The fact that it even went that far is pretty concerning for me.
I don’t usually comment but I gotta say that throwing a submarine-style sandwich at a CBP officer is pretty crazy . But I guess the verdict says it was all just a big misunderstanding. It’s wild how one case can make you question the whole concept of federal charges for something so seemingly trivial . And can we talk about the tension between lawyers and the judge? Like, didn’t they have anything better to do than yell at each other in front of the jury ?
