Joel Embiid upgraded to questionable for Sixers-Warriors on Thursday; Paul George ruled out

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid has taken a significant step towards returning to the court after an injury-plagued season, as he's been upgraded from doubtful to questionable for Thursday's home game against the Golden State Warriors. However, teammate Paul George will be sitting out, having been downgraded from questionable to out due to ongoing left knee issues.

It appears that the 76ers are attempting to stagger their injured players across both games of a back-to-back schedule. This means that George may appear in Friday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, while Embiid is set to rest. Grimes' Availability

On the other side of the ledger, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry remains out with an injury, and several Golden State players are dealing with their own health issues, including Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kuminga, Al Horford, Quentin Post, and Trayce Jackson-Davis, all of whom are listed as questionable.

😏 I think the 76ers are trying to send a message by having George play one game and then rest him for the next. It's like they're trying to send a signal that maybe he shouldn't be pushing himself too hard or something. And what's up with all the injuries on both teams? It's like they're all in on some kind of sick conspiracy to keep us guessing about who's actually healthy and who's just faking it for attention. 🤔 I mean, have you noticed how often these "injuries" happen right before a big game or when a player's contract is up for renewal? It's like they're all in on some big plan... 🤑

OMG 🤩 I'm so hyped for JoJo's return! 76ers need him like crazy after last season 😓. Staggering injuries is a solid strategy tho, it makes sense they want to get George in Friday's game and save Embiid for the 76ers vs Warriors matchup 💪. Curry's absence is a big deal though 🤕, his shooting will be missed by the Warriors. And I'm keeping fingers crossed that Grimes can bounce back strong 🔥!

U mad tho 🤔? The 76ers are literally playing it smart w/ the injury rotation. If they wanna get Paul George back on the court ASAP, they gotta weigh that against Embiid's return. It's a no-brainer, though - health > wins right now 😒. I'm hyped for Joel to finally make his comeback, but can't wait to see him dominate the Warriors' big man, Draymond 🤪! On the other hand, Curry's absence is a huge blow... Warriors are gonna be so lost w/o Steph 🙅‍♂️

I mean, think about it... teams playing injured players like they're just taking turns on a bench? Staggering them across games like that... it's almost like they're trying to make sure no one player carries the load alone. But is that really what we want in sports? It feels like a cop-out, you know? Like, aren't we supposed to be celebrating athleticism and endurance here?

And meanwhile, Embiid gets upgraded from doubtful to questionable... does that even mean anything? Is it just a numbers game now? I feel like we've lost sight of what's really important: the players' health. I wonder if anyone's thinking about the long-term consequences of playing through injuries...

It's like, what's the real cost of winning here? Is it worth risking your body, or is it just about getting to the next game on time?

I'm so done with the 76ers' strategy... 🙄 Like, can't they just make a decision on who's in and who's out?! It's not that hard! They're basically saying "if you're injured, we'll play you one game and then rest you". What even is the point of having a backup plan if you're just gonna use it? And poor Paul George, stuck sitting out because of his own injury. I feel bad for him, but at the same time, it's like... why should he have to pay the price?! Meanwhile, the Warriors are dealing with way more injuries than the 76ers and they're still expected to play on. It just doesn't seem fair 🤷‍♂️
