Jim Cornelison's national anthem gets Bears off to rousing start

Soldier Field was abuzz as Jim Cornelison took to the stage to sing the national anthem before Sunday night's Bears-Rams divisional playoff game. The crowd was electric, and NBC's broadcast of Cornelison's rendition reached a national audience.

The Rams and Bears are vying for a spot in the NFC championship game against the Seattle Seahawks, who won the 2022 NFC Championship Game. Chicago hasn't appeared in a conference title game since 2011, when they lost to the Green Bay Packers. Los Angeles last played for an NFC title in 2022, winning Super Bowl 56.

Both teams came off tough wild-card round battles to earn their spots in the divisional round. The Rams edged out the Carolina Panthers on the road, while the Bears won a thrilling comeback victory at home against the Packers.

The Rams' official Twitter account couldn't resist mocking "Good, Better, Best" and the weather Sunday night. Meanwhile, Williams is hungrier than ever for bigger goals after tasting success this season.

Cornelison's powerful performance was met with thunderous applause from the crowd, who were clearly pumped up for the game ahead. The Bears' narrow loss means they came within inches of reaching the NFC Championship Game for the first time in 15 years, with a potential two-point conversion attempt that fell short.

OMG this Jim Cornelison dude is EVERYTHING!!! 🀩 I mean, have you heard his voice on the anthem?! It gives me chills every time! And can we talk about how hyped the crowd was?! πŸŽ‰ The energy in Soldier Field must've been insane! But seriously though, I'm so proud of our Bears team for making it this far. 15 years without a conference title game? That's crazy long. We'll get 'em next year, Bears will be back 🐻πŸ’ͺ

I was literally on the edge of my seat during that national anthem performance 🀩. Jim Cornelison's vocals are insane, I mean, who knew he had it in him? The energy at Soldier Field was palpable and it seemed like everyone was so hyped for that game πŸ˜ƒ. As a Bears fan, I'm bummed they didn't make it to the NFC Championship Game but that comeback win against the Packers was insane! 🀯 Can you imagine if that two-point conversion attempt had gone in? The Rams are looking fierce this season though, and I think they've got a good shot at making it to the Super Bowl 🏈πŸ’ͺ

🌟 I'm totally stoked for the Bears! Coming so close to making it to the NFC Championship game is already a huge accomplishment πŸŽ‰. And let's be real, Jim Cornelison's national anthem performance was EVERYTHING πŸ”₯. The energy in Soldier Field must've been electric! πŸ˜† It's amazing how sports can bring people together like that πŸ’–. Of course, the Rams are looking fierce too 🀩, but I'm still rooting for the Bears all the way πŸ’ͺ. And did you see the Rams' Twitter burn about the weather? πŸ”₯ Lowkey, it's always fun to roast our rival teams 😜. Overall, what a thrilling game! Can't wait to see how it plays out in the NFC Championship game 🏈πŸ’₯

I'm telling ya, Cornelison brought the house down! That dude's got pipes on him, you know? I was low-key hyped when he hit those high notes, made me wanna jump outta my seat 🀩. But seriously, the energy in Soldier Field was palpable, it's a shame they came up short this time around. 15 years is a looong time to wait for an NFC championship spot, but I'm still rooting for the Bears all the way 🐻πŸ’ͺ. Those Rams are gonna have to step their game up if they wanna take down the Seahawks in the next round... Bring it on! πŸ’₯

I'm loving Jim Cornelison's setlist tonight! I mean, who doesn't love a good patriotic vibe before a football game? 🎸 He brought the house down with his rendition of the national anthem, and I think it really added to the electric atmosphere at Soldier Field. The Rams might have been salty about it afterwards, but honestly, I think Cornelison's performance was pretty on point. And can we talk about how close those Bears came to making a championship run? 🀯 I'm still hyped just thinking about it. They'll be back next year, and with more of that same determination and heart. Plus, let's not forget Williams is looking hungrier than ever for bigger goals - I've got my eye on him this season! πŸ’ͺ

Ugh, I'm so over the hype around Jim Cornelison's national anthem performance πŸ™„. Like, yeah, he sang okay, but it's not like it's some kind of earth-shattering moment or anything 😴. And can we please get a grip on how excited everyone is about the Bears making it to the divisional round? They're basically just showing up and getting lucky at this point πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I mean, Los Angeles last played for an NFC title in 2022... that's like, so long ago πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. And another thing, what's with everyone saying Jim Cornelison is "hungrier" than ever? Did he actually say something about wanting a bigger goal or something? πŸ™ƒ

omg did u see jim cornelison's performance at soldier field 🎢πŸ’₯ he killed it!!! 😍 i'm so hyped for the bears rams game now, anyone think the seahawks are gonna take it? πŸ€” the rams are lookin fierce after that win over carolina ⚽️

I'm totally bummed for those Bears fans πŸ˜”πŸˆ... it's been so long since they've even made it to the conference title game! 🀯 The energy at Soldier Field must have been insane though πŸ’₯... Jim Cornelison brought the house down with that national anthem performance πŸ”Š. I feel bad for Williams, she was SO close to making history this season πŸ˜”... but like, you can never give up on your dreams and stuff 🌟. Can't wait to see what's next for those Rams & Bears teams though πŸ’ͺ!
